It's foolish and gravely overreacting. It's akin to people wanting to impeach Obama over the healthcare bill. Recalls almost never happen, and I think it's a shame that people would go through such lengths over their union benefits at the expense of the taxpayers.
I can't believe this children are serious. Really? A recall?
What lie? I said they shoudl be, but will they hit the public in time to make a difference? That's what Danarhea isn't telling you.
Much has been made in the media about the Government Accountability Board’s role in recall petition review, and whether the Board should undertake a much more costly investigation of each signature. The Board will do its part as required by state law, but the procedures laid out in the statutes give recall committees and the incumbent officeholder’s committee important roles to play – eliminating fraudulent and duplicate signatures before filing, and challenging signatures after filing. The Board will then rule on those challenges. Political committees may raise unlimited funds to circulate and challenge recall petitions. By placing the burden on officeholders to identify questionable signatures, the Legislature has determined that the cost should be shared by the politicians rather than shouldered only by the taxpayers.
Union busting. His legislation that was shoved through had nothing to do with the budget. The unions had agreed to all of the budget stipulations, including paying more for their health coverage and contributing more to their pensions, they just wanted to keep their right to collective baraganing.
Plus apparently the people of Wisconsin dont think they are overreacting.
Unions would be unable to seek pay increases, for government workers, above the rate of inflation, unless approved by a voter referendum.[40][42] Under the bill, unions would have to win yearly votes to continue representing government workers, and could no longer have dues automatically deducted from government workers' paychecks.[40][43] Law enforcement personnel and firefighters would be exempt from the bargaining changes

3.4 million registered voters in Wisconson.
2.2 million voted in 2010.
1.1 million didn't vote for Walker. Congratulations on finding 500k people. Shouldn't have been too hard of a task to begin with.
It should be interesting to see if the people that signed the petition are actual registered voters.
Anyone with any real practical political experience can tell you the enormous difficulty it is to obtain a half million signatures in cold weather months on a politician just elected a year ago. This was a daunting task and the significance of its successful completion should not be underestimated.
There still is the actual election, no doubt about it. But this was and is significant.
Some might consider that act of joining/establishing unions a human right.
(1) Everyone has the right to work, to free choice of employment, to just and favourable conditions of work and to protection against unemployment.
(2) Everyone, without any discrimination, has the right to equal pay for equal work.
(3) Everyone who works has the right to just and favourable remuneration ensuring for himself and his family an existence worthy of human dignity, and supplemented, if necessary, by other means of social protection.
(4) Everyone has the right to form and to join trade unions for the protection of his interests.
The Universal Declaration of Human Rights
I guess you would have to be human to notice the problem.
More partisan Rush Limbaugh BS. The whole thing about the process can easily be revealed right here. The link is to a statement by the Government Accountability Board, authorizing the prosecutor to go after a group that is encouraging people to sign "Adolph Hitler" on petitions.
The gem in this statement is the following:
And who controls Wisconsin's Legislature? The Republicans, that's who. That's right, a REPUBLICAN Legislature could have changed that at any time since they gained power in 2010, but they didn't, until Total Recall began this year. Then the whining and lies about how the process works began. 'Ya know, the Governor didn't have a problem with the recall process when HE used it to oust the Milwaukee County Executive, and get himself elected to that position. Gee, why does he have such a problem with it now? Because the tables are turned, and he is on the other end this time. What a freakin' hypocrite. He needs to change his diaper, and stop his damn whining. He isn't royalty. He is subject to the same Wisconsin laws that all other Wisconsinites are subject to. That's how Democracy works, and Democracy is what is going to remove him, as it removes all others who would become dictators, against the will of those who elected them.
Completely false. It was a budget repair bill. The bill was projected to save the state $30 million that year and $300 million over the next two years. This was in the face of a $3.6 billion deficit in the 2012-2013 budget cycle. Private emails released showed that Walker was negotiating with Democrats by allowing them to retain some collective bargaining rights. To say the bill would do away with unions is completely false as well.
The unions had not agreed to all the budget stipulations, certain fiscal measures were stricken in order for the bill to pass in the senate by simple majority. If anything this recall effort shows that the corrupting influence of big labor is equal, if not greater, than big business. It also shows the complete lack of political will to reform mandatory entitlement spending on the state level that is bankrupting states across the country. Without the necessary reform of legally binding entitlement liabilities some states won't see the end of the next decade. What will happen? Cuts will have to be made in critical areas of discretionary spending; such as Walker's $900 million projected cut to state aid to education next year in order to balance the budget (which is required by law).

PS: I'd like to thank the AFL-CIO for my new signature.
What the bill shows is that Walker ran for office and did not tell the people what he intended to do with union collective bargaining rights, unfortunately this is part of an effort by the Koch Bros controlled tea party to control the middle class by attacking union collective bargaining rights.Walker lied by omission and is being properly dealt with by the voters

Not hard with all the fraud going on. They need to make the signatures and address open to the public in a searchable database so people can see if they "signed" the petition unknowingly.
It's not impotence, it's IGNORANCE.What is shows is that democracy can be hijacked by a 14% well-organized and funded minority. What it shows is that apathy among voters costs us dearly. There's nothing majestic about this movement. It is a sad testimony to the power of $$ and impotence of the American taxpayer.
OR it was a responsible reaction to a racket by Unions draining the state of funds.
The main purpose of a public sector union is to transfer tax money to the Democrat Party.
Don't think so?
Could you please provide some verifiable evidence which states clearly that this is the purpose of a public sector union?
LOL!
I did in my post. You go find a public sector union official and ask them my posted question.
Hell, you could answer that question for yourself. Would you be willing to give up automatic state deduction and paying of union dues for the right of public sector unions to exist?
You really are fun.

Don't think so? Ask any public sector union official if they would be willing to give up automatic deduction and paying of union dues by the State for the right to collectively bargain.
Just remember to be out of arms length when asking that question. You might get hit by an outraged union official.
ROFLMAO!
Here was you post in its entirety:
There is nothing in there in the way of verifiable evidence which offers any data, information or anything which supports your opinion other than your own opinion.
Please try again. Present some verifiable evidence other than your own opinion or your own conclusions or beliefs.
OK, name for me one state that has viable public sector unions and the state does not automatically deduct union dues from the employee's pay then transfer it to the unions. One state will do.
Go!
