I don’t know about where you live but the weather here changed over the last couple days to downright cool. I actually put my shirt on this morning to go out to open the gate as I woke the boys to get ready for school… It was down to 72F with a strong wind of around 23 MPH… I returned to the house to check the thermometer to see it was reading 80F because the mass of the concrete house was still radiating heat from the day before even with the windows open. I feel so sorry for the people surfing with that wind it has to be real cold when you get out of the water wet with that wind blowing.

Check out these temps: 7-Day Forecast for Latitude 18.46N and Longitude -67.12W (Elev. 338 ft)

How about putting your city state or zip code to make comparisons…

If this cold spell continues I’ll be forced to close some of the windows.

Things are pretty much normal around here for this time of the year.

Wow, bet you can go pheasant hunting with a stick... bet their butts are froze to the ground...

Here is a link to a solar energy link that has a table where you can calculate the sun angle for your latitude to see how it corresponds to the seasons in your area, hope you find it interesting. At my latitude a flag pole leaves no shadow at solar noon a couple seasons a year. Home Power Magazine - Your Small Scale Renewable Energy (RE) Source ... select Photovoltaic (PV) Module Angles

Sounds like it is about time for you to do some ice fishing... I used to do some on a lake on Pikes Peak that serves as water reservoir for Colorado Springs... we had to drill through about 3' of ice... amazingly it wasn't cold at 7,000' or so with blue skies...

Yeah its not quite time to ice fish yet. Some smaller ponds and the edges of some small lakes are thick enough to walk on and fish, but it'll be a bit before we can drive our vehicles out on the lakes. Its supposed to be a mild winter for us here with a moderate El Nino this year, so the snowmobilers are screwed again. If its global warming, then so be it, its cold up here I wouldn't mind it going up about 10 degrees on average. :2razz:

Does anyone pay more for cold beer where you live? Sounds like you would need a stop watch if you wanted to chill a warm beer on the window sill, but Saturday seems to be looking great!

I stayed at a bed and breakfast in Berlin once and the widow lady running the place asked me to call the police because they wouldn't come if she called... (this was while the wall was still up dividing Berlin) so I asked why do you need the police? She said last night I heard spies opening and closing windows upstairs and I want them to check the place out. I told her to check out my trash can for the intruders.

no, just let any thing you need sit outside for aboout half hour if you want it really cold, then bring inside, open and enjoy :D
