Gun control advocates don't actually want people to train the be better shots or competitors. The just want the training requirements to be so onerous to discourage lawful gun ownership. So I manged to elicit a couple of responses from gun owners who deride any kind of range games, and one guy ( presumably ) tried to say the size of his nuts prevented any such activity.
So I wanted to see how these people felt about training classes. Weapons retention, tactical carbine, shotgun handling, classes like that.
There are a few classes today out at the gun club, might go watch after some more coffee.
So classes? Or nah?
I agree with you in that. They folks I wanted to ask were the ones who presumably own firearms, but only shoot for zero and groups.Gun control advocates don't actually want people to train the be better shots or competitors. I only shoot for meat. Will there be meat?I agree with you in that. They folks I wanted to ask were the ones who presumably own firearms, but only shoot for zero and groups.
Nice to have Lib around to beat up on, innit? Much easier than arguing with actual people, who argue back.Gun control advocates don't actually want people to train the be better shots or competitors. The just want the training requirements to be so onerous to discourage lawful gun ownership.
I support getting as much training as you can handle so that you're as deadly as you need to be.So classes? Or nah?
Presumably you still practice.I only shoot for meat. Will there be meat?

Ask around, I'm certain someone has some jerky. Maybe even home made.I only shoot for meat. Will there be meat?
Not much. Check the sighting in late fall but in the thick bush here 30-40 yards is a long shot. No need to practice sniper-range shooting.Presumably you still practice.
I don't hunt anymore, either, but shots are a little longer here. My last elk was taken at 450 yards. Not much. Check the sighting in late fall but in the thick bush here 30-40 yards is a long shot. No need to practice sniper-range shooting.
Actually, this is all a used-to-be since I gave my deer rifle to my son last year. I just didn't seem to make time for hunting anymore, and hunting here is a very easy thing to do. Ten minute walk to the corner of my property, fifteen minutes along my neighbours fenceline and then pick a spot to wait in. Might get up and tiptoe around if boredom sets in.
There's two little general stores on this island. I'm an hour and a bit, including a ferry ride, from a supermarket.Try this new thing called supermarkets. It's a lot easier.
I’m not calling this a story, yet. My only experience is on the M-60 range. When the spotter told me the target had popped up, I fired at the kicked up dirt in front of the silhouette. I was twenty then with decent eyes……I don't hunt anymore, either, but shots are a little longer here. My last elk was taken at 450 yards.

Hunting is really easy here. I live in the bush and the bush is full of little blacktail deer. We've had six at one time in our yard.
But like I said elsewhere here, I don't bother with it anymore.

I have absolutely nothing against gun range games. I can understand the appeal they have for some people. I just don't happen to be one of those people. When I shoot clays at the range I simulate how I would be carrying my shotgun as I am walking in the field, so I can practice the actions and response time that I need to take when I spot a ptarmigan or spruce grouse flying in front of me. But that is as far as I "play" any games at the range. So I manged to elicit a couple of responses from gun owners who deride any kind of range games, and one guy ( presumably ) tried to say the size of his nuts prevented any such activity.

Unless training for target shooting. Not everyone is fixated on killing their fellow man.
So in a home defense situation, you would aim to wound ?
Attempt to rabbit hole aborted.
Is he asking if you'd break the law? Weird.
