In a stunning display of one-sided journalism, the mainstream media is mostly mute in reporting that a series of racist, anti-gay, and pro-nazi vandalism perpetrated at Oberlin College are hoaxes that were carried out by liberal students. Yes, I am being sarcastic in calling the media reaction a "stunning display" as it happens practically every day. Earlier this year, headlines were made when virulent hateful graffiti was found around Oberlin College and it was hysterically reported that a member of the KKK was walking around at night (which was later realized that it was a woman walking in a blanket). The result that administration of the extremely liberal college cancelled classes for a day and conducted "teach-ins" on racism and homophobia, or as I call it, "re-education camp."
The incidents sent the national media into a frenzy and news outlets breathlessly reported on the going-ons at the campus as if a new race war was spontaneously suddenly going to break out akin to Obama's false narrative of a spontaneous attack on our consulate in Benghazi. However, a funny thing has happened between then and now, something that progressive liberals despise. The truth. Not only was the ringleader an extremely liberal student, but he also organized a voter drive for Obama. You would think that the media would do a mea culpa and devote some time to explain how the initial story and all the media coverage it garnered turned out to be a fake. If you thought that, then you would be wrong (and I have a bridge in Brooklyn I want to sell you).
As it always happens, the mainstream media has mostly ignored the hoax angle of the racist incidents. This is part of a long standing demonization of conservatism that has been going on for decades. The pattern in sadly always the same. Somewhere an incident occurs where racism or violence is alleged. The media then rushes in to report endlessly on the situation but use said situation to point the finger of blame solely on conservatives. When the incident is shown to be a hoax, usually carried out by progressive liberals, the media stays silent and the public wallows deeper in ignorance. This is deliberate in that the media works tirelessly to make sure the average voter equates conservatives with violence, sexism, and racism.
There have been many such hoaxes in the past. In 2009, a far left anarchist (who worked for Democrat organizations and the SEIU groups) vandalized the Democrat Party's headquarters in Denver. The media and the Democrats immediately blamed Tea Party conservatives. When the actual vandal was caught, the media response was muted. Also in 2009, a US census worker was found dead in rural Kentucky. He had a rope around his neck and the word "Fed" scrawled on his chest. The media naturally went crazy, blaming Republicans, conservatives, and Southerners for "lynching" the worker. Eventually the truth came out and it was shown that he had committed suicide and made it appear as a hate crime for an insurance scam. 2010 saw several more examples of media bias. A female professor at University of Alabama-Huntsville shot and killed three of her coworkers. The media's response? It was Tea Party rhetoric! The truth is that the professor was a far left progressive liberal who worshipped Obama. Nanny Bloomberg initially blamed the Tea Party for the failed Times Square Bombing. The media went agog over this and there were endless roundtables of how this could have happened when the real cause was Islamic terrorism.

Of course the LSM would cover up the many hoaxes while stirring racial hatred. Then there's nothing like exploiting things like Taryvon, but not Antonio Santiago, Marley Lion, or Chris Lane, including the Christian/Newsome murders.
