Racism In America Will Become A Part Of The Conversation.............................

Re: Racism In America Will Become A Part Of The Conversation.........................

Maybe a bit over simplified but you can bet your bippy that the Zimmerman defense worked on that more than any other single fact. They absolutely had to convince a Florida jury that racism wasn't a factor in the case......yeah, right. A group of folks from Jacksonville, FL racists......you must be trying to **** me.

Jacksonville, FL is exactly like southern Georgia and S. Carolina. BRIGHT RED. It's like the fact that southern W. TN is in reality N. MS.

But what about the fact that there was no evidence of racism shown in the trial?

Re: Racism In America Will Become A Part Of The Conversation.........................

What I think is that any time a cop wannabe, neighborhood watch guy who has already called a youngster he doesn't even know names, then go against professional instructions and follow a teen ager who was visiting his dad until a confrontation began then because he couldn't stand the idea of getting an old fashioned ass kicking he shot him through the heart and lungs......something is very wrong if he is turned loose. He murdered an unarmed teen ager. What about the rights of others....not just white Christians?...which coincidently were the requirements in days of old when a southerner wanted to join the Ku Klux Klan.

What's wrong with wanting to be a cop?
What's wrong with being part of a neighborhood watch program?
Was told by the "professional" to let him know what he was doing then later informed by the same "professional" he "didn't need" to follow him.
Confrontation began. Most honest people now feel Martin started the fight.
Receiving "an old fashion ass kicking" is not an idea.
Jury said he's not guilty after hearing every bit of evidence presented by the State.
What about the rights of others? White Christians included? Crime Stats say blacks commit crimes against whites at eight times the rate as white against black. You have any outrage on that? I didn't think so.

Re: Racism In America Will Become A Part Of The Conversation.........................

But what about the fact that there was no evidence of racism shown in the trial?

Anybody who has seen the first police interview knows that this case was fixed from the git go. No arrest....the detective saying, "One Thing I Have To Put Behind Us Is That You Didn't Know The Name Of The Street Nor The Address." You Were On Neighborhood Watch And There Are Only Three Streets In The Complex." Zimmerman....an A student in his police classes declared that his memory was so bad that after living there for four years he still got his own house address number mixed up between 1850 and 1860.

Another thing....why was the camera capability disabled? Strange that the very one which could have verified how Zimmerman pursued the boy just happened to be disabled.

Treyvon Martin laid in the morgue three days with a John Doe tag on his toe. I think the case was decided and the outcome was fixed before the trial ever started.

The Jeantel remark is the truth.....if he was a real man he would have taken the stand and cleared up some of the questions.

The only thing I like about the outcome of that fiasco is that Zimmerman will have to be looking over his shoulder for the rest of his cop wannabe life. If it were me I'd rather be in a prison than that. Although he would have to be in isolation there to stay alive.

Like I said, there was no evidence of racism.

Re: Racism In America Will Become A Part Of The Conversation.........................

So, by simply stating that, does that make you part of the solution? ;)

Of course not.

Re: Racism In America Will Become A Part Of The Conversation.........................

We will be having this conversation in the year 3014 and nothing will have changed.

Re: Racism In America Will Become A Part Of The Conversation.........................

I have never said racism is only a white problem. I am simply pointing out the holy war over who is most racist is not having an honest discussion about racism.

What many fail to honestly discuss is that racism is not exactly the same thing as racialism, although there is some overlap - especially in current/common US usage. Some folks actually allege that merely citing crime statistics, based on race, is racism yet will use economic/academic statistics, based on race, to defend "affirmative action". Either you believe in equal treatment under the law (14th amendment) or you do not. How in the world can "racial profiling" be wrong when based on criminal justice statistics yet right when based economic/academic statistics?

rac·ism
noun
1. The belief that race accounts for differences in human character or ability and that a particular race is superior to others.
2. Discrimination or prejudice based on race.

ra·cial·ism
noun
1.
a. An emphasis on race or racial considerations, as in determining policy or interpreting events.
b. Policy or practice based on racial considerations.
2. Chiefly British Variant of racism.

I don't know where you live but here in Tennessee a lot of folks are no different than their parents and grandparents. They run around telling racist jokes and talking about how they mistreated blacks when they were in the military. A couple of months ago at breakfast which my brother and I do with a couple of our friends from the 60's one of his close friends said, "I Just Can't Get Used To Ni**ers" If it had not been for my brother I would have drilled him a new one. Anybody who doesn't recognize racism...especially in the southern red states is a racist their self.

So, the personal bigotted/racist attitudes of a few morons should somehow justify all of society to reward their chosen targets? I clearly recognize that there are racists and bigots but, as with any law, that law should be designed to punish those that break the law (after due process) not simply attempt to reward all members of the (alleged?) victim "class" without any due process.

Just as non-felon blacks owe nothing to the victims of black crime, non-racist people owe nothing to the victims of racism committed by other persons. If a gov't, business or private citizen is found guilty of racism then a punishment/settlement is indeed due to the defined victims, but not some blanket "class action" arrangement in which every black is due some settlement from every US citizen based on the alleged actions of some anonymous racist "rednecks".

Wow, come out blasting your political opponents with racism and then display a large bit of it yourself. Along with massive ignorance about how our system works and the details of this particular case. Good work!

Re: Racism In America Will Become A Part Of The Conversation.........................

In my view, only racists talk about racism.

You need to clean the crap off of your windshield.

Ignoring racism doesn't make it go away, unfortunately, just talking about it doesn't help much, either.

Me a racist? you sure as hell either can't read or maybe can't understand. I saw my maternal grandparents and their kids persecute black people in west Tennessee until I moved away from there. In 1952 my high school graduating class had 0ver 240 seniors. There were a few blacks who should have been in school with us all the years of our education who had to ride a bus 25 miles to Knoxville, TN and attend a black school. Don't you even think about me being a racist. I was around it my entire life and I'm just the opposite.

That's just one more thing the bible has it's proverbial primitive head up it's ass about...condoning slavery for thousands of years and often accommodating it. I'm not a racist but I damn sure recognize a self serving fairy tale when I see one.

Re: Racism In America Will Become A Part Of The Conversation.........................

What I think is that any time a cop wannabe, neighborhood watch guy who has already called a youngster he doesn't even know names,

He had reason to believe the "youngster" was one of the people breaking into houses in that neighborhood. Calling him names was only natural.

then go against professional instructions and follow a teen ager

he was never instructed not to follow Martin.

who was visiting his dad until a confrontation began then because he couldn't stand the idea of getting an old fashioned ass kicking he shot him through the heart and lungs

The jury has spoken. Martin was shot in self defense.

......something is very wrong if he is turned loose.

You are ignorant of the law and ignorant of the facts.

He murdered an unarmed teen ager. What about the rights of others....not just white Christians?...which coincidently were the requirements in days of old when a southerner wanted to join the Ku Klux Klan.

And you prefer to remain ignorant.

Wow, a whole lot of ignorance in that post, clearly yet another person with no idea about the actual facts of the case.

Gotta love the suggestion that somehow someone should just accept and take a 'ass kicking'... what buffoonery.

Re: Racism In America Will Become A Part Of The Conversation.........................

Racism In America Will Become A Part Of The Conversation................when Fox News and Rush Limbaugh start watching MSNBC. They should look into a mirror if they would like to see real racism.

What conversation are you talking about, old man? You talking to yourself again? LOL!!

Seriously, though...do you really think you can toss around charges of racism, without giving any real facts to substantiate those charges, and expect anyone to give you an ounce of credibility?

Personally, I find all of your threads to be something I read for their entertainment value...not because I expect to gain any new knowledge or insight.

Re: Racism In America Will Become A Part Of The Conversation.........................

You my friend are part of the problem and you don't even know it.

You need more of an explanation than just that simple drive by posting.

Re: Racism In America Will Become A Part Of The Conversation.........................

We will be having this conversation in the year 3014 and nothing will have changed.

Al Sharpton and others that make a living off of fueling racial politics will be dead. Hopefully others will be more educated by then so Al and company won't have replacements.

Re: Racism In America Will Become A Part Of The Conversation.........................

it also does not help when media prints controversial cartoons like the one in this link.

Michael Ramirez Political Cartoons 07/19/2013 - Investors.com

It is a bit more based in the truth than most of the left leaning cartoons out there. Ramirez is very good. He pushes the line at times, but sometimes that's needed to make a point. His point in that cartoon is well made.

If both Hannity and Rush started watching it would bring MSNBC's total viewership into the teens.

That is how I use the word racism, and why I do not use it much. Instead of the term "racialism", I will tend to say "institutional racism", but it works out the same.

Crime statistics are not racist, but can be used to justify racism, nor is affirmative action, though it can be depending on the justification.

My point however is that people are not having honest discussions about race and racism, period. What is happening is that people are pointing to each other and shouting "racist". That is hardly an honest discussion.

Yeah he's lucky some cowardly, racist son-of-a-bitch hasn't shot him down in cold blood the way they did Martin Luther King and Medgar Evers.

What is totally ignored by the "justice for Trayvon" crowd is that in all of 2011 there were:

Of the 4,623 hate crime offenses classified as crimes against persons in 2011, intimidation accounted for 45.6 percent, simple assaults for 34.5 percent, and aggravated assaults for 19.4 percent. Four murders and seven forcible rapes were reported as hate crimes.

FBI — FBI Releases 2011 Hate Crime Statistics

Far too little outrage exists for the real cause of misery and death of black people - other black people.
