Hi, this is my first attempt at a Debate in these Forums. I thought I should start with something that I've experianced personally.
I'll be 22 in exactly one week from now. I remember my elementary and Junior High life, and it was miserable.
I live in a small town where the majority is black. We are sort of segregated, but people can live anywhere they can afford, and we all went to the same public schools of course.
Now in Kindergarden, everything was peaceful, we didn't know anything was wrong, and my best friend through second grade was black, and she was really nice. In second grade though, she transferred to the "other" public school. (there was one for blacks and one for both and all the money went toward the other one).
Up until 3rd grade, I was in the A class, and only about 2 black kids were in there. In third grade, we got a new scumbag principle (and this is NOT the reason he's a scumbag) who was married to a black teacher (nothing wrong with that...) and because the white kids were in the A and B classes and the black kids were in the C class, he thought that "wasn't fair" so he refused to sort us by test scores and instead mixed us up and made ALL the teachers slow down and teach what the C class teachers taught.
Now there is a mixed up class and what's the first thing we learn? You guessed it...The Civil War, and Slavery Emphasis. In Fourth Grade, there was this horrible black girl, who decided to bully me because I was blind. But what do the words white and honkey have to do with being blind?
Fast forward to sixth grade, Jr high. She's still at it and now joined by a black boy. Not to mention our English teacher - note: I said ENGLISH - instead took it upon herself to teach black history, including the black National Anthem, and she allowed students to express their torment by randomly yelling out stuff like "honkey" and "white trash" during her lessons.
The two bullies turned physical (the boy tripping me and the girl punching the wind out of me as I was standing up from doing situps in gym) so I did the only thing I could: drop out.
I went to a very small school in the next town, and things only got worse. I was the only white girl in the class this time. (but there were about four white boys who hung out with me) It was so small that the 7th and 8th grade had class together. Now all the teachers were black, and there were three I really liked and 2 I really disliked. Our Home Ec teacher was a nutcase for reasons I won't get into unless someone asks. But, she actually went around the classroom individually asking each student whether or not we'd date someone from the other race. You could feel the tention, and it was sickening. I don't believe that was any of her business at all, was it? We're in the south for gosh sake, and we were 13 years old! I wasn't discusted, I was terrified of being called a rascist and being beaten up for being honest - I'm just not attracted to black people. I said so, and I think they called me a rascist for the rest of the day.
The black kids would skip the good teachers' classes saying the country owed them and learning was for white people, and they'd just use AA to get ahead when they grew up.

Now we live in a world where if you tell someone you've been racially harassed by a black person it's ignored or turned around on you. I dropped out period and started homeschooling because of the lunacy that kept happening at that school, I couldn't even list it all.
They acted as if it was their right to torture us now that they were the majority. But they've got the wrong generation. I'm half-blind for gosh sake, I don't hate black people, but the way they acted made me sick. My parents warned me as it was happening that black people still hate white people, even though slavery is over, but you shouldn't hate them for it. So I'm nice to anyone I meet, and now that I'm grown up people are normal.
But do y'all think that that is justified and fair? I'm not coining it reverse-racism because that says that white people are the default racists and we aren't.
They seriously should teach the civil war in college, that would keep racial tention out of elementry school...>_<
