Court Rules Against DOE on Funding to Private Schools | Law & Crime

"A coalition of states and school districts scored a “big win” against Education Secretary Betsy DeVos on Wednesday when a federal court blocked a Department of Education (DOE) rule that would have diverted CARES Act funding from public to private schools."

"...resurrecting some language from one of late Justice Antonin Scalia’s colorful dissents, called the DOE’s argument “interpretive jiggery-pokery in the extreme.”

These corrupt Trump folks. I swear. They will try anything.

They're A mafia.

School choice is Mafia-like? No, sorry, condemning children to failing government schools is the crime here. But as a liberal who really doesnt care about the education of our children, particularly black children, the state of our government schools doesnt bother you.

Do you really know anything about private and charter schools. In Wisco about 40% of private schools have closed. Several opened, got the state money and then closed and left the state with the money and the students had to return to public schools. Since the state had already paid out the money for the students, the public schools had to eat the students costs. Another trick the private schools used was to tell the state they could handle students needing special programing. After receiving , the money, they would then tell the state they could no longer handle the students and give them back to the public schools but not the money. The public schools would once again have to eat those costs. And the real kicker was that the test scores on average are no better and some a lot worse than public schools. I do not know about other schools, but having been a school board member I keep up with education in Wisco.
