Actually, the notable quote is a little ways down the page, when John Boehner says:

"What we really expect out of the Democrats is for them to treat us as they would liked to have been treated."

They are treating you as you treated them, John, so whats your complaint?

Wow...some real nice ones there...my fav :

"I call on you not to hate because hate does not leave space for a person to be fair." - SADDAM HUSSEIN

Talk about not following your own phylosophies in life.

"I accept this gavel in the spirit of partnership, not partisanship."
- Nancy Pelosi, 1-4-2007

Bush: "I'm a uniter, not a divider". 1999

Why are you trying to defend Pelosi by bringing up Bush?
Other than you have no other defense?

That one is special, since Bush has managed to even divide his own party. Remember Reagan's 11th Commandment? Dead and buried.

Actually, I am a Democrat, and I expect the Democrats to treat the Republicans like they would have liked to have been treated. We Democrats complained about the very poor treatment under Republicans, and someone needs to take the first steps toward restoring civility.

However, I do consider it the height of hypocrisy for anyone who failed to advocate for better treatment of Democrats to now whine about bad treatment of Republicans, no matter what the Democrats promised.

In a similar vein, I consider it equally hypocritical for Democrats not to implement civil treatment of Republicans. We need bipartisanship to be restored, and thereby the nation to be brought together. This means that everyone needs to be represented in the government. If we marginalize nearly half the representation (the Republican minority in the House), then we will be marginalizing a very significant portion of the American people through their representation in Congress. This is inherently divisive. The excuse that Democrats were marginalized by the Republicans does not hold water! Where do we go from here, today?

Please, if you live in a district represented by a Democrat, and especially if you are demonstrably a Democrat, PLEASE write your representative and advocate for bipartisan behavior and House rulemaking.

It's the same rationale you applied to mine
Ad hominem tu quoque much?

I am Shuamort. What the hell are you talking about? I'd address this further, but it's obvious basement fodder and it's not really worth it.
My bad - thought I was responding to danarhea.
