1. how does one chop another's thread into sections, so as to reply to each section of that persons thread individually, in their response, when quoting?

2. How do I post a poll without posting the thread first? I do not see the option for a poll there until after I have posted the thread.

3.When I change the thread options to hybrid or to thread or the other options available, other than the original option. The threads do not appear as they are suppose to appear. For example in one of the options it suppose to show the threads the old way and than above show the outline of the threads, well in mine, the outline and the threads are not showing. The only one that works is the original option, which I don't want if I have a choice, any ideas here?

Thanks for your time and help. :2wave:

We have a "quote" button at the bottom right...When you click that, you will see a regular editing window...but with that person's words that you want to comment on...

The actual code for this is {QUOTE=person's name} at the beginning, and {/QUOTE} at the end...

Note - I used "{" so you can see what I'm talking about...the ACTUAL code uses "["...

So it comes out like this...

person's name said:
here are the words that you wish to comment on

So just separate what you'd like to comment on by placing these {QUOTE} and {/QUOTE} around the text.

Just like I'm doing in this post!...:2wave:

That's just the way the software works...I don't believe there's another way...

II'll let another Mod take this one...I've never changed this and am a little unsure...

Hit the "Quote" button and look at the post. You will notice that before and after the quoted section, there is text in brackets; before the quoted section it's the word "quote", an equal sign, and the name of the poster you're quoting. After the quoted section, there is a slash and the word "quote" again.

If you want to cut the quoted text into sections, put /quote in brackets after the first section you want to reply to, and put quote=poster in brackets before the next section you want to reply to. Just repeat for each section you want to quote.

And for gods' sake, please only quote the sections you're replying to and delete the rest. Too many people quote the entire post to reply to one or two points.

You don't. Post the thread, then edit the thread and add the poll.

Can't help you with number three. Sorry.

edit: Damn you, cnredd. You will pay for this indignity.

This is a known bug in the "SEO" software - it is supposed to be fixed soon.

Hybrid is awesome when working properly.

Well....you don't have to edit the thread. When you create a new thread, if you scroll down past the text box, there's all of those additional options, the option to create a poll is right there.
