Question For Bernie Sanders' Supporters

I support Bernie because:

  • I believe in his agenda

    Votes: 12 52.2%
  • Hillary is establishment and the establishment must be stopped

    Votes: 1 4.3%
  • I can't support a lying, dishonest, crook

    Votes: 5 21.7%
  • Other

    Votes: 5 21.7%

  • Total voters

I'm not a Bernie supporter, I was a Rubio girl. But if I leaned further left, I would enthusiastically support him. As it is, I really like the man. He practices what he preaches. He's a middle class man who made it but still lives middle class. He is very genuine. He is basically everything Hillary Clinton is not.

I'm not a fan of Bernie's ideas because I'm clearly a capitalist and not a socialist. But I "get" where he's coming from. I think some of his ideas have merit, they just aren't feasible.

I'm still supporting Bernie Sanders, even though he probably won't win in the end. There's no way in Hell I would ever support Hillary Clinton.

Nothing in this universe could make me vote for Hillary. I could vote for Bernie if he beats her and opposes the Orange Skulled loon.

Bernie had an amazing showing yesterday. I know it's over, but he seems prepared to take it all the way.

She's just so unbelievably fake and corrupt. I can't believe Hillary supporters actually think she's genuine and sincere.
I don't necessarily agree with all of Bernie's positions either, but when I found out all of the corrupt **** about Hillary Clinton, I could never go back to even entertaining supporting her for president.

Oh come on. She's With Us!

I think you might be right, that he believes the ideas he proclaims. That is a major problem he has and we should be careful he still has those monkeys on his own shoulder, when he leaves.

So you will vote for Trump?

In terms of the "current choices" from the two main parties...Bernie is the least offensive.

So "other" got my vote.

Fair enough. So you are electing Clinton, then?

To elect someone is to choose them. To vote for someone other than that person is inherently NOT choosing them. She would not be electing Clinton, nor would she be electing Trump. Only those who actually cast a vote for those people would be the individuals who "elected" them.

I'm a Bernie Sanders supporter because he is beloved by his constituency and has a 30+ year track record for honesty and prioritizes the needs of his citizens over mega-corporations. He has been ahead of the curve on every progressive issue before it was cool.

FYI, I'm a capitalist, and I find nothing contradictory between Sanders' platform and my capitalism.

Thank you. I keep on running into this same argument all the time, from both Trump and Hillary supporters.

Because Bernie's good...but honestly it's hard to not sit there and vote for Hillary's a crook. Wish I had two votes.

And you will every time you propose voting for a 3rd Party candidate from now until the day you die.

The argument is as old as two party domination of our political system.

That is false. If you vote for someone that cannot win, you chose the winner, though, you did not give her your vote.

It's a glass half full, glass half empty situation: both are true. If you vote for candidate C, you are choosing that person. If voting for candidate C risks taking votes away from candidate B, then you are giving candidate A a greater chance of winning. Both statements are true.

If you cast your vote for candidate C, but know that he cannot win and that your vote is thus "wasted", you are choosing the winner of the election. At the very least, you are marinally increasing the risk that A wins, as you are choosing to vote for your favorite and not the second best that has a chance of winning.
