"So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. (Genesis 1:27)
What does this mean - God has two arms and two legs, a pancreas, and teeth? How does that square with the idea that God is indescribable?
In a physical plane, certain dualities need seperate forms.
Created male, to hunt feed the fire driving life, the hunger for the physical, food shelter, protection. Compassion of a mother, sacrifice, unconditional love came to the female.
The Buddahs say that the perfect marriage is between a dragon and a bird.
Lower creature who are male do not stay with the young, even some females leave, like turtles. Humans need mother and father equaly, more birds do this than reptiles. The largest hunters of all, the raptors, hunt for their young, give them food, and protect them like a mother. When met equaly, these instincts compliment each other making life here better for the young, and the parents.
That mothers developed compassion after aggression is obvious in lower mammals, compassion was in our genes long before man evolved and more dominate in females did not mean that males did not have the ability to have and show compassion. Except today they are considered "Gay" and abused if they do so.
Is there a distinct "us" and "our" in male and female instinct? in form?
The Buddahs of Japan
Jizo Bosatsu and Kannon Bosatsu (Goddess of Mercy) are two of the most popular Buddhist saviors among the common folk. Like Jizo, the Kannon Bosatsu is intimately associated with Amida Nyorai, for the Kannon is one of Amida's principal attendants, and she often wears an effigy of Amida in her headdress. Curiously, however, both Jizo and Kannon underwent a sex change after arriving in Japan. The Kannon was originally male, but is now portrayed almost always as female, while Jizo was initially female, but is now portrayed almost always as male (except, perhaps, when appearing as the Koyasu (Child-Giving) Jizo). There is a point of "sex change" and here and a great compassionate male god arises like the sun, sound familiar?
Talking to the mammals and animals of this planet as "God" did one could ask; do male and female become 2, or only 1 animal? Do both the instincts, no matter how opposing in nature, Compassion v.s. Aggresion come from "God" and make a perfect life? And, do both lie within our ability to do such acts if we wanted to or were moved to for the sake of humanity, instead of myself?
