Everything said about Putin and war crimes to date has been an understatement. None seem to appreciate what this man is capable of, and what military tactics he is willing to use to commit mass murder.

Putin was relentless in the 2nd war of Chechnya, his mass slaughter gaining him popularity with the Russian population. One of the most horrific war crimes was his assurance of safe passage for hundreds of civilian villagers evacuating a village he had destroyed, and after they were out of the town then killing them, more than 363 on their "safe passage" route.

So ruthless was Putin, have the population became refugees (400K) either escaping to Ingushetia and southern Russia, or on the move in Chechnya. The Russians sealed off the escape route to Georgia and proceeded to carpet bomb the separatist Republic

Her face burnt almost beyond recognition, she lies prone on her hospital bed and tells in a child's whispers of the day her mother, father, her two brothers, her sister and her cousin - among 363 people from the same village - were wiped out.

And the Society for Threatened people reported of the war in Chechnya:

Chechen cities, towns and villages such as Grozny, Gudermes, Shali, Sernovodsk, etc., have been subjected to systematic bombardment on a daily basis by the Russian air force and artillery. The people left behind in Grozny are living in dark, chilly basements, terrified by the unceasing onslaught. They have no drinking water, no electricity, no fuel, no food, and no medical care. Even the hospitals have no running water or electricity. Almost nothing can be done to help the sick and infirm. The 17 pumping stations in Grozny have no electricity and cannot be operated. According to the British aid organisation HALO Trust it is impossible to venture out onto the street because of continuous Russian bombardment. Three of the organisation's workers were killed in a rocket attack. According to the Russian human rights activist Yelena Bonner, dozens of people, mostly women and children, are dying every day from their injuries, exhaustion and the cold. ...

During the late afternoon of 21.10.1999 (at around 5 p.m.) Russian forces fired eight rockets into the crowded central market place of the Chechen capital of Grozny. The Russian television station NTV reported that 188 people had been killed and over 400 injured. According to a report produced by the Chechen human rights activist Z.G. the great majority of the victims were women out doing their shopping. The rockets used in the attack were ground-to-ground missiles. Most of the casualties were caused by the second and third rockets, one of which hit a bus while the other landed in the middle of the crowd.

According to the International Red Cross in Geneva, 25 people were killed, including two Red Cross workers and children, on 29.10.1999 when the Russian air force attacked a refugee convoy near the village of Shami-Yurt. 70 people were reportedly injured. The convoy comprised a convoy of 5 vehicles. All the vehicles were clearly marked with the symbol of the Red Cross. The Russian army dismissed the accusation and claimed that the vehicles were troop carriers transporting Chechen fighters. In an official statement issued the same day the ICRC rejected this story. A reporter from AP who subsequently went to examine the site found burned-out civilian vehicles, as well as cookers, refrigerators and other household items.

Now Putin has moved to using outlawed cluster munitions, thermobaric bombs, and mines. He has moved to relentless full-scale shelling of entire urban areas, dispatching a 40-mile-long convoy to reduce the City to rubble rather than risk house to house fighting. (You likely saw the missile just missing their Parliament, another target of Putin's. And one moment there is a stately government administration building and the next a giant orange fireball.).

And recall the fate of Gronzy, they didn't capture it, they obliterated it. Pulverized apartment houses, plazas blasted beyond recognition. Almost impossible to find a single structure left standing in the City not wrecked by a bomb, artillery, or intense gunfire. Mounds of rubble, gashes in the streets that disemboweled the cities underground utilities, releasing gas and water (likely the work of ballistic missiles).

Think of Stalingrad or Guernica, that is what awaits historic Kiev.

I stand with Ukraine.

I'd be the end for him. Nations will be screaming for him to be ripped from wherever he's hiding and thrown in jail.

Then if the Ukrainians hold out, and he applies the same solution he applied in 1999, we'll see.

The man's entire imprinted world view was under Soviet communism. His entire personae is for contempt for underlings, contempt for those who are weak, contempt for those less virile. He has reduced his oligarchy boot lickers to terrified, stuttering, puppies. He and his KGB rule.

Unless the world (save China) has the courage to not provide entry or exit to Russia a ship, plane, cell call, internet link, person, or one once of material (even humanitarian) then I'm not sure t can be stopped. Not a single Russian citizen, student, businessperson, lobbyist, tourist, or professional should be in any NATO or Commonwealth Country. Let them vacation in some shithole in Syria or Venezuela. Their leader, and by extension them, makes them unfit to be treated with anything less than disdain. Save for a defector or dissident, all in Russia must be held accountable.

Putin had ruined what little economy Russia had.. And has shown Russia's military isn't that good..

This invasion might be a serious mistake on his part...
