Putin's Strategy:

Putin is rotating his troops, so that the young minds have a chance to think about their experience and improve upon it for their next rotation.

By the time they get to the NATO troops sitting in Romania and Poland they'll walk all over them.

If Putin thinks he can, he will.
 
If Putin strikes at a NATO country, the response will take place within Russia’s borders. I hope they tread carefully.
 
I personally wonder if folks in chechnya will consider starting up fighting again while the russian army is occupied in ukraine.
