A wave of war propaganda is gushing over Russian youth

The people need to be indoctrinated when they're young, when they question less. Russian yout committees that are funded by regional and federal authorities has since a few years now been part of the propganada machine under Sergey Shoigu. The most alarming part of this though is: Yunarmiya (the Youth Army). Children are militarized from young age to fight "Nazism", while of course the closest equivalent you'll find to this is in Nazi Germany and other totalitarian states. With the indoctrination of Russia's young Putin is creating a future Russia can't turn back from. One of isolation from the rest of the world.

For a moment I thought you were referring to the Azov Batallion.

No you didn't. You knew exactly what he was referring to because of the OP's headline, and the headline of the link cited.
You're just being another salty anchovy who's been simmering in the Putin-esca too long.

Sigh. Why is it that literally every aspect of any normal dictatorship gets equated to “literally Hitler!”

The OP doeth protesteth too much. After enjoying the performance of the infamous Azov battalion for years without shedding nary a tear, I find it chic that the OP is invoking Hitler Jugen when it is turn of Azov battalion on the ropes.

Hitler wanted to restore the German Empire. Putin wants to restore the Russian Empire. Same same. Except that Putin is not very good at Blitzkreig.

Uh....no, not even close. For starters, Putin isn’t planning on a campaign of systematically murdering tens of millions of “undesirables”. For another, claiming that attempting to restore a nation’s “sphere of influence” makes one akin to Hitler is idiotic, especially since literally hundreds of leaders across the globe— including in America— have tried similar efforts.

we should only use it when a dictator like guy starts slaughtering innocents for land.

.....so that means America is guilty of supporting “literal Hitlers”, since we backed such operations in East Timor, and turned a blind eye to Saddam’s effort to seize Khuzestan, to name just two blindingly obvious examples.

The comparison is just flat out dumb.

He has nukes. He gets backed into a corner he most certainly can murder millions. And I'm sure he has plans to do it.

You don’t think Saddam wasn’t a dictator? That’s certainly a hot take.
oh, Saddam was a dictator that we eventually took out.

are you a Putin boy?

Again, that’s the entire point of nukes— to keep one from being backed into a corner. This isn’t anything new either.

A dictator whose war to annex land we turned a blind eye to, and even actively supported in some aspects.

Does that mean we backed someone akin to Hitler?

Or gee, Hmm, maybe we should stop clinging to such ridiculous equivalences?

This is why Republicans are passing laws about what ideas can be discussed in the classroom and what books can be placed in school libraries.

Russia's economy is a mess, 3rd world like... Their military has been disappointing at best. I'm sure there are rumblings around Putin that unless this 'adventure' of his succeeds he's a goner.

If he becomes desperate enough no telling what he will do..

Hitler wanted to restore the German Empire.

Hitler wanted to restore more than just the German Empire. If he was prepared to settle for even something close to pre WWI Imperial Germany, there's a slim chance he may just have pulled it off. At the very least he would not have taken on the Soviet Union. The fact of the matter is Hitler wanted way more than what others considered even a generous definition of the earlier German Empire. And it was that excessive greed, not just Imperial ambitions, that got the rest of Europe on his throat.

Putin wants to restore the Russian Empire. Same same.

Except it is the Russian contention that it is Nato expansionism they object to.

Except that Putin is not very good at Blitzkreig.

The bear has always never been good at blitz. The bear is more a wrestler than a swashbuckler

Correct. America has been much more adept at running a sphere of influence than the UK, France, Germany, China.

HE threatened with nuclear weapons which indeed is murdering tens of millions of “undesirables”

The fact that they didn’t curbstomp the Ukrainians doesn’t change the fact that they are still advancing though. And, quite frankly, I’d prefer an adversary unaware of the flaws in their military to one that can now take steps to fix them and become substantially more of a threat.

Just look at what happened after the Winter War, for instance.

A threat is not the same as systematically rounding up and murdering millions of people.

And, by that standard, the US is also “literally Hitler” because of all the nukes we’ve got pointed at China.

Seriously, the straws people are willingly to grasp at to try and make this silly equivalence not flop are absurd.
