President Vladimir Putin warned on Wednesday of a resolute response if the U.S. decides to station missiles in countries neighboring Russia. Putin, in his annual address to parliament, said his country would not seek confrontation and would not take the first step in deploying missiles after the suspension of the Intermediate-range Nuclear Forces Treaty. However, he said Russia would respond to any deployment of new intermediate-range missiles in Europe by targeting the United States itself and not just the countries where they are deployed, according to a Reuters translation. He said he would field new weapons that would target U.S. decision-making centers. He warned U.S. policymakers, some of whom he said were obsessed with U.S. exceptionalism, about being careful before taking new measures. "It's their right to think how they want. But can they count? I'm sure they can. Let them count the speed and the range of the weapons systems we are developing," Putin said to applause, according to Reuters.
Putin threatens to target US if it deploys missiles in nearby European countries
Russian MIRV'd ICBM in underground silo.
Three points.....
1) Russia has been in INF Treaty material breach since 2008 and still refuses to scrap its SSC-8 Novatar cruise missile that violates INF distance parameters.
2) The US has neither stated nor even hinted that it intends to move missiles into Europe.
3) Despite Putin's theatrics, Moscow has never stopped targeting US/European cities with MIRV'd (multiple) nuclear warheads on silo-based intercontinental ballistic missiles and mobile launch vehicles.
4) The President of the United States is unfit to serve, conspires with Putin. The GOP is complicit. When would be a better time for world class authoritarians such as Putin to make threats and possibly take aggressive actions?

I wouldn't go so far as to say Trump conspires with Putin (wouldn't argue with someone who did either) but, cnsidering the possible Russian responses to American missies deployed in nearby countries, how confidant would you feel if Russia put missiles in Cuba with Trump sitting in Kennedy's seat?

1) The US and NATO were in breach in 2002 and onwards when they started deploying anti missile tech in Europe.
2) US/NATO has and will be deploying missiles in breach of the treaty. The so called defensive shield in Eastern Europe.
3) Hard to prove, just as it is hard to prove that the US has not been targeting Russia or others with their nukes.
I know you are a devoted Russia hater, but there is always 2 sides to every coin and in this case you are being played by the Trump administration and its propoganda machine.
Like it or not both countries have wanted to rip up the treaty for a long time, but politically it would look bad if there was no excuse...so let's manufacture one!

The New York Times reported recently that “Donald J. Trump and at least 17 campaign officials and advisers had contacts with Russian nationals and WikiLeaks, or their intermediaries,” during the 2016 campaign for president. “Among these contacts are more than 100 in-person meetings, phone calls, text messages, emails and private messages on Twitter.”
