That was expected.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has been nominated for the prestigious award for his attempt to prevent a US strike on Syria, reports the UK's Independent. The group responsible for the nomination is The International Academy of Spiritual Unity and Cooperation of Peoples of the World, or IASUCPW if one prefers, which is on the list of organizations given the OK to make such recommendations.A letter from the group read: "Being the leader of one of the leading nations of the world, Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin makes efforts to maintain peace and tranquillity not only on the territory of his own country but also actively promotes settlement of all conflicts arising on the planet."

Who cares. the nobel peace prize lost all credibility and value.

That is true after Obama won it.

Obama received the prize whilst only a year into office, talk about a pre-emptive strike.

And he turned hawkish after that with N. Korea, Iran and Syria.

It's been true for at least a decade now. It's given to geopolitical powers.

And look at the nominations. 250 nominations...
Bah.

And as much as I respect the pakistani girl who is an international icon for the right to education, and I hope she wins the EU prize, she's not really deserving of the nobel PEACE prize. She didn't bring harmony or peace or stability or did work to better the lives of people in a region.

You know who deserves the Nobel peace prize? Medicines Sans Frontier. Pick some remarkable people from doctors without borders and give them the peace prize! they actually earn it. Give it to the guys who are in syria or who were in Somalia until they had to leave because they became the targets of attacks from both sides in the conflict and other groups too...
The chinesse guy who won in 2010 earned it.
The guy from Finland in 2008 earned it! He is like a legend... fixed around 4-5 big conflicts in the world and brought them to a happy resolution.

And there are worse people than Putin that can win the peace prize. At least you can say that Putin prevented a war... but prevented a war in a region that is already afflicted by war. It's rubbish.

But Putin can be a wolf in sheep's clothing.

All while helping to further the cause of many of the World's most murderous and disruptive regimes and terrorist organizations. Good job guys!

Makes perfect sense in this Globalist World...

Meanwhile Christians are still being slaughtered by Muslims but no one cares because the board is full of atheists, atheists whom hate Christianity or those who view Islam as victims hence the both aforementioned ideas apply..

It's ****ing disgusting...

It squares off with Muslims slaughtering Muslims.

It squares off with Muslims slaughtering Muslims.

Yeah, that will never happen...

All non-Muslims to Muslims are pigs and their intent is world domination per the Qu'ran...

I suppose those whom are "not radical" generally look the other way while genocide happens with the exception of a few...

Barbarians....

that is true after henry kissinger won it.

ftfy.

EDIT: Dammit, Henry David beat me to it.

Other recipients of the award include Yasser Arafat, F.W. DeKlerk and Anwar Sadat.

What with the Peace Prize being established by the man who invented modern high explosives and was a major weapons manufacturer, I'd say that the prize has been confused from the beginning.
