Putin hopes there is no need to use nuclear weapons in Ukraine

President Vladimir Putin said in remarks published on Sunday that Russia had sufficient strength and resources to take the war in Ukraine to its logical conclusion, though he hoped that there would be no need to use nuclear weapons.

Putin ordered thousands of Russian troops into Ukraine in February 2022, triggering Europe's biggest ground conflict since World War Two and the largest confrontation between Moscow and the West since the depths of the Cold War.

Perhaps he will nominate Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize since his abandoning Ukraine could bring a quicker end to the war.

He has plans to do this previous then Biden made a call and he backed down.
Now with Trump in office he may well use them.
 
I don't think Putin is at all above using nukes, but the threat to his position and the strength of his regime would have to be extreme. He probably feels more confident about his position than he did this time last year, such that he's probably just bullshitting at this point, testing to see what kind of reaction he gets from various parties, Trump in particular.

Xi said he would end all assistence to Russia if Putin used such weapons in Ukraine.

About the only weapons Putin hasn't used in Ukraine are his nuclear warheads and chemical/biological agents.

The WMD's.

Just like traitor trump, he gets his rocks off fear mongering and threatening people, it makes him feel that much more powerful.

How many years now has he been threatening nuclear war? How many times did he act on his threat? How often did it strike fear in people, allowing him to get his way? Just the way I see it, you don't have to agree, I don't expect you to.

He has reminded us he has the capability many times but that is not the same. We have blustered the same.

Well, one broke international law by invading another country causing the biggest killings in Europe since World War, and is kidnapping their youth and the other didn't - more than a minor distinction.
