“Russian state media churned out ridiculous assertions, claiming in part that the corpses of women and children depicted in the footage from Bucha—some of which were charred beyond recognition—were “moving their arms,” “getting their limbs out of the way to avoid the wheels of military vehicles” or even “getting up and walking away.”

While scenes from Bucha made headlines around the world, Interfax published a report on a ceremony conducted by the Russian military on April 2, in which several awards were presented to the Airborne Forces (VDV) of the Russian Federation in the Kyiv region. According to state TV outlet Zvezda, that unit had been involved in “holding back the actions of the enemy forces” and “performing the cleaning of settlements” in Bucha.

“In the Kyiv region, in the area where the tasks of the formation of the Airborne Forces were performed, the awarding of Russian paratroopers took place. The commander of the formation presented state awards to servicemen who distinguished themselves in combat missions during this special military operation,” the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement about the awards.”

One wonders if anyone in the Russian government is capable of even recognizing the truth, let alone speak it. To stand in front of the camera's and
spew such stupid lies is beyond belief.

Bucha was mainly the work of Russia's 331st Guards Parachute Regiment of the 98th Airborne Division from Kostroma, which is roughly 213 miles northeast of Moscow by road.

This unit entered Ukraine from Belarus on February 24. Most of its soldiers are professional kontraktniki (contract soldiers).

The Commander of the 331st (Col Sergei Sukharev) and his deputy (Major Sergei Krylov) were KIA in Ukraine on March 13.

According to a Kostroma memorial page on the Russian V'Kontakte social media site, over 100 members of the 331st are known to have died in Ukraine and possibly dozens more. Many families will never receive their loved one's body because it was left behind on the battlefield. This unit also participated in the massacre at Ilovaisk, Ukraine in 2014. We know this because 10 members of the 331st were taken prisoner.

The OP article reminds me of bs put out on the net of fake "actors" playing dead and wounded at the Boston bombing. Or fake actors used at Sandy Hook.
Some believe false story lines put out on Infowars and the like.

So it is not surprising Russia (Putin) is trying the same tactic of disinformation.
