“The president says that Build Back Better won't add a penny to the deficit. The CBO has this new score where they assume social programs are going to be made permanent, and in that case, it would add $3 trillion. Does that mean that President Biden will commit that these programs won't be made permanent?” Fox News White House Correspondent Peter Doocy asked.

What we’re talking about here is a fake CBO score that is not based on the actual bill that anybody is voting on. This was a ask request by Senator Graham to score a bill that is not currently being debated,” the press secretary said.
“So I would say, Peter, to your question, the president has conveyed very clearly, multiple times publicly that he would like programs if they’re extended to be paid for,” she said.

*The largest difference between the two estimates stems from an increase in the child tax credit that ends after 2022 in the House-passed version of the bill.*

Graham on Hannity said he told Manchin of the new scoring, and Manchin was "shocked"..

Political wrangling.

1. The bill hasn't even been written yet. All we have is talk about "I want this." "I don't want that." "It's all paid for." "It's not all paid for."

2. Hell, the media can't even make up their minds how much this crap is going to cost. The NYT says $2.2 Trillion. Politico says $1.6 Trillion. CBS says around $3 Trillion.

3. No matter what the price tag, this bill is nothing but a desperate, last ditch hail mary by the Dems to get their left-wing agenda into law before the hammer comes down in November 2020

I heard Manchin talk about this and his perspective might surprise you. He said to make the programmes permanent now. He said that could be done by removing some other things from the bill and using that funding or by including appropriate funding now or by letting the tax credit expire now. He did not indicate a preference nor did he seem at all shocked to me. Manchin knows darn well what is in the bill and the funding arrangements. He probably knows the bill better than anyone. Having said that it is clear that passage of some version of the BBB is likely to slip into next year.

Its not fake, its hypothetical. Same thing Dems do when they want to spin something. Biden's claim the bill costs 0 is just as fake.

Does anyone really beleive that if they pass a massive child care entitlement, that it wont become permanent? Id like to see the Dem come out and say they are going to pay for child care for 5 years and then cut you off.

I'm going to counter-assume that the spending is made permanent along with revenue raisers that bring in more revenue than needed to finance the spending. Ergo BBB is the largest deficit reduction bill in the history of the country!

(a) SHORT TITLE.—This section may be cited as the 6 ‘‘Birth Through Five Child Care and Early Learning En7 titlement Act’’.

Dont give them ideas. They will start claiming that too. Increase the deficit? No, it will create a surplus, pay off the debt, reduce inflation, stop the seas from rising and cure cancer!

Hypothetically, definitely!
