OK, I realize that’s a bit of a sensationalist headline, but bear with me. The Missouri State Highway Patrol of course didn’t say anything about the content of the protesters’ signs. Instead, they claimed that the protest was a “public hazard,” since there had supposedly been five minor traffic accidents on the freeway below as a result of the anti-Obama signs on the overpass:

“Charges were filed against two men for their protest against President Obama in St. Charles County. Police were called to the overpass of Interstate 70 where the protesters were reportedly holding up signs in St. Charles. The Missouri State Highway Patrol said the protest distracted drivers, causing five minor accidents on I-70 near Fairgrounds Road so they asked the group to move anywhere beside the overpass. The troopers then arrested Marc Messmer for refusing the trooper’s order to move and resisting arrest. Jimmy Weed was also arrested for refusing the order. The men claimed their ‘Overpass for Obama’s Impeachment’ is free speech.”

Then they had these guys on Aug 7th.

Protesters stand on NC overpass with sign: “Honk to IMPEACH Obama”

This is awesome. Protesters camped out on an overpass with a big sign that says “Honk to impeach Obama”. According to one of the protesters, who happens to be black, they were getting a lot of honks. He made a point to say it’s not about color for him, it’s about doing the right thing.....snip~

Also, what I didn't know was they were having some Overpasses Impeachment for Obama across the country. Aug. 8th this year too.

“Impeach Obama” Peaceful Protesters Arrested In Eureka, CA

Six “Impeach Obama” protesters in Eureka, California have allegedly been arrested after being physically and verbally abused. Whether you agree or not with the sentiment, they have a right to peacefully protest. This was part of a nationwide “Overpasses for Obama’s Impeachment” campaign, which I was unaware of.

Passing motorists stated that the arrests took part at the 101/255 exchange just North of downtown at around 7:45pm PST. Local resident Artie Campbell was driving home with his family when 8 police cars drove past him and stopped on the 255 bridge. Artie had this to say of the incident, “I haven’t seen anything like it in my life. The protesters seem to have been minding their business and those police officers did not appear to be local guys.”

According to Campbell, the officers were taking turns ridiculing the victims and at one point even pepper-sprayed two of the older men before placing them in flex-tie restraints and escorting them to nearby squad cars. Artie referred to the scene as “modern-day fascism” and suggested the officers may have been federal agencts sent directly from the Obama Administration in an attempt to silence opposition.....snip~

Although I complete agree with you on this one, it begs the question; why does the government get to do it? (Amber alerts, seat-belt reminders, toll information, etc. signs on overpass or overpass-esque structures.)

Heya Douglas. :2wave: My question would be if any got permits and did this Day or Week of Overpass Impeach Obama as a Nationwide Protest. Wouldn't it then be legal.

There were more arrests made and in other states too. All over the same time period.

Official signs drivers are used to versus god only knows what hanging or being held from something designed for people to cross over the freeway safely? Apples and Oranges.

What I am wondering since the nationwide day was set for Aug 6th. Why the Media tried to downplay the word getting out? As not many I spoke with even knew about it.

Maybe a few hundred kooks nationwide isn't much of a news story.

Seems it was all over the place though. Here was Denver.....where Obama had support.

It's no wonder they got busted. Look at all that distracting crap, as if we didn't already have enough problems on the road.

Course ya know Texas had to get into it. :cowboy:

What really catches it home is Obama Home State. Illinois.

I guess it started in Oklahoma then went to Texas. Then the rest of the US. Here is when Info Wars picked them up.

It’s Not Crazy to Talk about Impeachment -- The Framers did not see impeachment as outlandish.

By Andrew C. McCarthy
August 24, 2013

To the legacy media, that shriveling adjunct of the White House press office, the story is not why Americans would think it worth asking whether the president should be impeached. It is, as one would expect, why some prominent Republicans are dignifying the question with serious answers.

Senator Ted Cruz of Texas is in trouble, naturally. Being an unapologetic conservative, tea-party stalwart, and happy warrior has made him the preferred punching bag of the media and other Beltway dinosaurs — their hysteria meter always tells you who worries them most. Asked at a conservative gathering in the Houston suburbs “why don’t we impeach” the president, Cruz respectfully replied that this was a “good question.” He then gave a good answer: “We don’t have the votes.”

Unlike Cruz, who became Texas’s solicitor general after graduating from Harvard Law School, Senator Tom Coburn is a medical doctor, not an accomplished constitutional lawyer. He is also more of a Washington fixture than the rambunctious freshman: After six years in the House, Coburn is now well into his second (and what he says is his last) term in the Senate. It was there that he became chummy with young Senator Barack Obama during the latter’s pit stop on the way to the Oval Office.

Of course any attempts to really impeach Obama would be blocked by the Progressives as they are clearly opposing the demonstrations. Was impeachment of Mubarack and Kadafi opposed by Obama? Now the shoe is on the other foot.
