:lol: are these guys serious? what's described here is a friggin MEU - they go through the Suez all the time. like, literally probably around 6 times a year. and that's just the MEU's - which is a minor (though important) part of the fleet. heck, i went with the USS Iwo Jima through the Suez in 2008 and again in 2009. the Navy goes through there on a constant basis. the 5th Fleet (again) has been off of Iran's coast since (as far as i can recall) the 60's. if they are getting reinforced (a move which i would wholeheartedly approve), then that might be newsworthy, but not as part of a regular rotation schedule.
in other news today, the US Army is sending recruits to boot camp, a growing indication that they intend to invade China with a land army....
