Ive heard of criticism before on pardon /commutation -but not dropping an indictment. It's s fine line and you should read for yourself what Weiss filed in court

the legal filing, submitted to the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, states that no legal precedent mandates the dismissal of an indictment simply due to a pardon, even if it was granted by the president.

Following the pardon, Biden's legal team submitted a motion arguing that the "Full and Unconditional Pardon" necessitates dismissal of the charges with prejudice, effectively ending the case.

But prosecutors, led by special counsel David Weiss, countered this assertion. "A pardon does not blot out guilt or expunge a judgment of conviction," the filing stated while citing past rulings such as United States v. Steven Bannon. They emphasized that a pardon removes the punishment but does not invalidate the legal basis for an indictment.

The prosecutors' opposition draws on historical practice and judicial precedent. They highlighted cases like United States v. Urlacher, where pardoned individuals were administratively terminated from court records rather than having their charges dismissed outright.

Republicans fabricated a political persecution against Hunter Biden to de-legitimize the cases against their crooked president.

This was known 4 years ago when the case appeared out of thin air in October just before the election.

They were vindictive and did selectively prosecute him.
He paid the negotiated fine for the tax charge already.
Name one other time his gun charge has been prosecuted in a case where another crime was not committed.
 
From President Biden's statement:

Without aggravating factors like use in a crime, multiple purchases, or buying a weapon as a straw purchaser, people are almost never brought to trial on felony charges solely for how they filled out a gun form. Those who were late paying their taxes because of serious addictions, but paid them back subsequently with interest and penalties, are typically given non-criminal resolutions. It is clear that Hunter was treated differently.

Hunter shouldn't be treated above the law but not below the law either.
 
Weiss would go after "god " for letting his kid get off of the cross. Joe ain't god but he loves his son. Besides god what other loving father wouldn't?
 
Hunter should just plead guilty, and walk away. Case over.

paying the fine doesnt absolve the guilt. There were more charges that could have been filed from Hunters' "business consulting"
(influence peddling)- hence the plea agreement
Then the plea was upended when it went too far and the judge said she wasn't going to give blanket immunity for crimes not even mentioned/discovered.
It boiled down to a still sweetheart agreement - and the most grievous were scuttled by statue of limitations (Burisma/CCP energy deal)

No way was DOJ "vindictive" they tried bending over for Biden, but when the blanket plea was rejected, then there had to be a guilty plea on the minor charges

He accepted a plea deal that was rescinded due to political pressure.

If you want to stop "Gun crime," you need to prosecute for all firearms violations to the fullest. As they do in countries with very low firearms issues.

Hunter is a bagman (goon) as much as a influence peddler. He's how Bidens all got rich, and he's even complained about it in a text/email

The Biden's family got their own petty karma vindictive , and their international grifting on their plate, not mine
It's just astonishing how long they operated. And they made big bucks.

I am politically pissed off the Joe gets to go up there and lie, and then the press reports Biden has been gaming this out
since June. Which wasn't reported until today. Nothing new about the Democratic press of course

So France should not accept the credentials of convicted, sentenced, and pardoned felon Charles Kushner because his record includes guilty pleas to felony counts.
 
When Trump realizes he can do nothing to any Biden his life-long dream will put him in a nuthouse. Good.
