Prosecutors wrote in court filings that were briefly made public Friday that the U.S. fears for the safety of Maria Butina, the woman who pled guilty on Thursday to being an unregistered agent of Russia in the U.S., if details about her transportation while in custody are made public.

Bloomberg News first reported that a filing stamped "Under Seal" was made public Friday and reveals that prosecutors have urged a federal judge to keep details about Butina's whereabouts out of the public eye due to security concerns.

Now the Feds are afraid the Russians will try to off her on her way back & forth to the slammer.

I think he bigger problem will be after she gets deported back to Russia. In La Carre's 'Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy' the Russian woman who rats them out to Ricki Tarr in Lisbon gets drugged, flown back to Moscow, brutally interrogated & shot inside a Russian prison. The Russians don't like snitches. In WWII the forerunner of the KGB & GRU was SMERSH. Their motto was 'Death to spies.' I don't know the details of the immigration part of her agreement with the Feds but getting deported back to Russia is in her cards. She should have held out for political asylum knowing what will happen to her back in Moscow.

who cares if another russian hillarybot spy bites the dust? just less money to the clinton foundation

Two (interrelated) thoughts:

1] If Butina has anything of value on Russia, it's a reasonable fear

2] If the feds have that fear, Butina has something valuable on Russia

;)

May have to rely on chivalrous men to open doors for her........

What are the chances that she is one of the hookers on the pee tape????

I dunno'. It looks like her 'natural' appeal opened quite a few doors to non-chivalrous men!

“Opening doors”
Salisbury
Skripal
......
Novichok
...

She confessed and outed her handler. Russia will likely view that as treasonous. So I think there is good reason to be worried. Though carrying out a hit on US soil might be pushing things more than Russia wants to. But I wouldn’t rule it out.

Read 'Tinker Tailor...' or watch the Alec Guiness version. Spies & traitors are treated summarily by the Russians. It's a cultural thing.

More disconcerting, now that we are no better at leadership and abhorrence of Russian Laundered money at the very top of the US Government than they have been in the UK, there is little reason to believe that Russia will not try to get away with the same brutality within our own borders that they feel free to exhibit in the UK. People like Manafort and Butina have every reason to fear Russian retribution within our own borders.

Clearly Donald will roll over for anything Putin or MBS. Donald does the rolling over but it is our Presidency and our country that takes it up our rears. Nice job Donald, you POS.
