Proof The Left Has Gone Totally Bonkers

Even Hollywood is now criticizing the insanity of the left. If you know the left has gone too far left even for Hollywood, that closes the case.

Kirstie Alley slams new Oscars inclusion rules: '''This is a disgrace to artists everywhere'''

Affirmative Action has come to Hollywood. All affirmative action succeeds in doing is making sure someone less qualified is given a position that someone more qualified should have had. Isn't that what affirmative action is supposed to stop? What is wrong with getting a position because you are the best qualified? Anything based on skin color is wrong. Affirmative action is unconstitutional and it's just a case of the pot calling the kettle black. Color of skin should not entitle you to special privilege.

Kirstie Alley hasn't had a significant role since 1999.

"Hollywood" isn't criticizing anything. An old white woman is.

Ummmmmmmmmm, you obviously didn't read the whole thing. Several actors have complained about it.

Funny how Hollywood used to always dictate how everyone else should live their lives but when it slaps them in the face they don't like it. They thought they were safe making huge bribes to the Democratic party as long as their liberal ideas didn't apply to them.

James Woods and Dean Cain too, members of the Trump Cult.

(Who, I might add, ALSO haven't done anything significant in Hollywood in decades. There are people who can legally drink in America who were born AFTER the death of Dean Cain's significance)

How many movies nominated for the Best Picture Oscar in the last 2 decades would not meet the criteria set forth by these new rules?

So over 70% of your actors are straight, white males and all leading and supporting characters. Over 70% of your staff/crew are straight, white males. Over 70% of your marketing executives are straight white males. And all because they were just all better than everyone else?

I realize that many Trumpsters view tabloid celebrities, rock stars, and movie stars on the same plane as world leaders.

After all, if it weren’t for this shallow thinking, neither Trump, nor Sarah Palin or any of the other pseudo celebrity crackpot politicians would ever have had a chance.

There are far more important things going on in this country right now than anything that the Motion Picture Academy of Arts and Sciences might come up with.

Not only is having every role filled by the correct skin color wrong, it's racist.

I know some are going to call it social justice but it's still racist.

Having a straight white male land a role as a lesbian black female is an example of diversity. Or are you just worried about cultural appropriation?

I didn't say anything about cultural appropriation. I'm asking why it is okay to assume that a film with over 70% of the cast, crew, and marketing executives being straight white men, as well as 100% of all leading and supporting character roles is viewed as "well they are the best for the job" and that insisting a single award in the industry be given to a film that could have 30% of one of the groups above involved in that film be anything but a straight white man or that 1 leading or supporting character not be a straight white man is somehow "going too far"?

I'll ask again, which movies nominated for Best Picture in the last 20 years did not meet the given criteria? The only ones I can think of that could possibly be up there would likely be war movies.

I have no issue with a straight white guy playing a gay woman or even a black character, if he can pull it off. Such a movie though isn't likely to be in the running for picture of the year at the Oscars.

You dont really know the criteria to qualify under the new rules, do you? You literally can have an all white male cast (which is generally only going to happen with two movie types, period war movies with nothing but the war as the whole plot and period gangster/mob movies that don't include a female character), and still meet the criteria by simply having either the crew of the film or the advertising execs of the film be just a 30% mix of non white men, women, or gay and then the studio making the film having an intern program that has that same mix. 70%+ of everyone who worked on the film in any way can be straight white men, and you and others are still complaining that it isnt fair, Hollywood has gone too far.

Because Woods and Cain have been blackballed by the socialists in tinsletown.

Someone must have forgotten to tell The Trumpet that it is not a soap opera but an actual job.

I think it is all about economics. They surely done the math and figured they would make more money by using white actors than none-whites. You spend a few hundred million on making a movie and you want that money coming back the end of the day. That's what it is all about at the end of the day.

Joey

Their careers died long before they started being open Rightwing crazies. Dean Cain hasn't done anything significant since 1997. James Woods, since playing Hades in Disney's Hercules, has had one significant role: playing a parody of himself on Family Guy.

I get my best political information from Kirstie Alley, along with Charlie Sheen, Tom Cruise, Sean Young, Crispin Glover and Gary Busey.

But the rules allow for the entire cast to be white men (who generally have been the highest paid in Hollywood). The crew can be the "30%", and if they are like most industries, those minorities are paid less.
