As ridiculous as the ^title sounds, it's actually MUCH worse than that, there just wasn't enough room in the title box to fit all the ridiculousness!

A young kid living in Colorado Springs, was sitting on his own sofa, at home during a VIRTUAL school lesson. At some point, he was seen with a plastic airsoft TOY GUN. The teacher had an irrational knee-jerk reaction to this "terrible sight", and reported it to her equally irrational principal. The principal suspended the kid for 5 freaking days, AND called the police on him!

The teacher ADMITTED that "she suspected it was a TOY, but she was concerned for her class's safety"! Because toy guns can shoot VIRTUAL rubber airsoft pellets through the internet! Oy vey...

The also-irrational/progressive police officer shows up to the kid's home, harasses the family, scares the kid, and tells him that "this is likely to result in serious criminal charges for you"!

The parents are putting their son in another school. But if the teacher's unions have their way, that won't be an option! Remind me who the "fascists" are?

Actual fascist regimes promoted gun ownership. The term you're looking for is "communist".

It pains me to have to agree with you but when you're right, you're right, and too many Americans have bought into the notion that fascism is left wing, which it is not and never has been. Their History teacher, whether they know it or not, is Jonah Goldberg, who first floated the theory in his book "Liberal Fascism".

It's since been copied mostly by Dinesh D'Souza and Dennis Prager as well as a slew of other Trump water carriers and Tea Party trolls.

This is a pure case of invasion of privacy, forcing school rules as if the personal residence of the student were the classroom of the school. The officer had no warrant, that I can tell. To then say that action could be taken should the same event occur is threatening, again, an invasion of privacy. And, yes, kids have been killed by LEO for similar as this, "brandishing" a toy gun. What if the kid answered the door with his "gun" upon the LEO knocking? It brings up another point. If a student can learn remotely, in home, then they can learn from any school. Like from a white-flight school where higher property tax revenue produce more school supply, etc. What will happen with whomever reported this incident and those that moved it to where it went and what was the law that made it so?

The correct interpretation is not "Fascism and Communism" are the same. The correct interpretation is that BOTH Fascism and Communism are extreme forms of SOCIALISM.

One is Socialism dictated by a "strong-man," the other is Socialism dictated by a "committee of the best" at telling everyone else what to do (usually guided by a strongman [see Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot, etc.]).

My, my, my... Just went all in on the overreaction right out of the gate, just like momma... It's not as exciting when you read the actual police report...

A country ruled by a "strong-man" or "committee of the best" is by definition not socialist nor communist. Fascism is the opposite extreme of these.

A toy gun, a toy car, a action figure, whatever the toy was if It was a continued distraction then the school should be able to Suspend the kid. 5 days seems a little harsh IMO first offense I would make a paper due, second time maybe a day or two then five after that.

The soft score swatting of the family by sending the police to do a welfare and safety check is clearly overstepping. I doubt there are many any other toys that would result in cops showing up. I hope some common sense training is in the future at that school. I also would hope that if this child does have ADHD he has an environment he can do his schoolwork in without the distractions of toys around him.

Read the police report above... It was a school resource officer and there was nothing overstepping about the way he handled the situation...

No they didn't! It doesn't even make sense! Why would ANY govt that plans on oppressing their populations want them to be allowed to own guns to protect themselves from that govt oppression!? The Nazis confiscated guns from Jews just before they began oppressing them!

This is very simple: Conservatives believe in more personal freedoms and civil liberties, and less intrusive govt. Totalitarian, fascist regimes support LESS civil liberties and more govt intrusion into people's lives! It's obvious which of those sides the current progressive movement is on, and it sure as hell ISNT the side of supporting more civil liberties and less govt intrusion into people's lives. The left want total gun confiscation, they just don't have the support for it yet....

Socialism is an economic system in which government owns the means of production. It is not a form of government.

But then, I wouldn't expect a Trumpist to tell the truth about anything. Especially when that same Trumpist claimed that videos and photos of police slashing tires was not "evidence" of police slashing tires.

I did and according to the report the school resources officer is a deputy in the sheriff’s office
and there was nothing overstepping about the way he handled the situation...
On that we disagree

At any rate, this whole thing is hopelessly moronic.

NO, sorry. Look up "socialism."

any of various economic and political theories advocating collective or governmental ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods.

The look up Fascism and Communism:

Fascism: a political philosophy, movement, or regime (such as that of the Fascisti) that exalts nation and often race above the individual and that stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition.
Fascism | Definition of Fascism by Merriam-Webster

Communism: a doctrine based on revolutionary Marxian socialism and Marxism-Leninism that was the official ideology of the U.S.S.R.

b: a totalitarian system of government in which a single authoritarian party controls state-owned means of production

Whether a fact makes sense (to you) reflects more on your understanding of things than it does on the fact.

The Nazis confiscated guns from Jews just before they began oppressing them!

Correct. They liberalized gun laws for ordinary Germans, while taking them away from groups they planned to persecute.

"Believing" in the lottery does not make it an effective way to get rich.

Fascists hate socialists and among the first inmates at Dachau in 1933 were socialists. You do not know what you are talking about in your attempt to derail a thread about a black boy playing during a school lesson with a toy gun.

Given the frequency of police violence against Black people, the boy's mother should not have allowed a replica firearm in the house.

Left win loonies. This is where Joe Biden is taking us.

Should the SRO have just not responded?

They probably should have suspended the teacher for five days for mental health observation. If these are the people teaching our nations' children, we're really in trouble.

Based on the police report, how should the school/SRO have responded?

No, that is not logically possible. Collective ownership and administration is incompatible with strong man or committee ownership and administration. A cannot be both A and B.

You are confusing the tendency of fascist dictators falsely claiming to be socialist with actual socialism. Not unlike fascist dictators claiming to be democratically elected. Fascism is entirely incompatible with socialism just as it is entirely incompatible with democracy, regardless of what the dictator claims is the case.

Based on the police report, how should the school/SRO have responded?

They should have placed the teacher on administrative leave and profusely apologized to the student and parents.
