Wow. So young. RIP.
What a player he was. One of those guys who other teams had to game plan for...
Double and triple teamed and still won defensive MVP.

Any word yet on what the F happened?
A football player dying early is nothing surprising. Most football players die in the their 50's. Getting past 60 is very rare.

Let me quote you here...
I didn't realize I needed to provide evidence. It seems pretty common knowledge that if you suffer numerous concussions/head related injuries, that will significantly diminish your life span.
Also being 300+ pounds (no matter how athletic and fit you are) doesn't seem very healthy.

Fact: “A government study found a lower death rate among former NFL players than among men in the general population. Former players also had a lower rate of cancer-related deaths. And the rate of deaths from heart disease was lower, too.”

Fact: “We found the players in our study had a much lower rate of death overall compared to men in the general population. This means that, on average, NFL players (77.5-year life expectancy) are actually living longer than men in the general population (74.7 years).”

Think about the study you just posted. It is stating people playing football are living longer than men in the general population.
I'll provide a source soon. Give me some time.

Do a quick search on huge number of players who have died due to drugs, alcohol, and violence. Then factor that into what the stats actually mean.
Yes. Primarily because they are in better shape.
Being 300+ pounds makes you in better shape? Lol

Being 300+ pounds does not mean you are in poor shape. Even a fat-ass like Sam Adams was "in shape."
The former Seattle Seahawks star was in the hospital from May 10 to 15. He then reportedly called a friend to complain of dizziness on May 22 before he was discovered the next morning, according to a police report obtained by TMZ.

Beat you by 4 minutes. Ha ha.
I was gonna say, all those old codgers I've been watching in the HOF Parade all these years must be exceptions to the rule.
There are plenty that are still in great shape.
