The bloomberg article's behind a paywall, but Daily Wire's got a straight-reporting article about it.

Chinese secret agents tried to stop a Texas rare earth minerals mining project by posing as concerned Lone State state residents, according to the Pentagon.

The Beijing-directed operation allegedly targeted Lynas Rare Earth and other mining firms in a bid to derail the supply chain in the United States. Chinese agents used thousands of phony social media accounts to whip up opposition to the project, the cybersecurity firm Mandiant, which the Department of Defense praised for bringing the operation to light, wrote.

“The campaign used inauthentic social media and forum accounts, including those posing as residents in Texas to feign concern over environmental and health issues surrounding the plant,” wrote Mandiant.

If we've got China trying to interfere, that's good reason to proceed.

It's also good to try to get the lithium free battery development going. i am hoping the sodium ion batteries (The USA company Natron is supposed have their mass production plant online early 2023), and the graphne, aluminum batteries take off.

Russians infiltrated, maybe even created, the Green movement in Europe to shut down coal, oil, gas and nuclear development in Europe, and create a captive energy market for Russia. We are seeing how that is working out.

Looks like we have at least as much to fear from the Left as we do from the nasty old Koch Brothers.

Texas.

......Heart of Texas, a Russian-controlled Facebook group that promoted Texas secession, leaned into an image of the state as a land of guns and barbecue and amassed hundreds of thousands of followers. One of their ads on Facebook announced a noon rally on May 21, 2016 to “Stop Islamification of Texas.”

A separate Russian-sponsored group, United Muslims of America, advertised a “Save Islamic Knowledge” rally for the same place and time......

.....Burr, the committee's chairman, unveiled the ads at a hearing Wednesday morning and said Russians managed to pit Texans against each other for the bargain price of $200......

Wonder where they got the idea to leave the union.

......You may have seen headlines earlier this month about how the Republican Party of Texas, in its biennial convention with thousands of delegates from across the state, approved a new platform that declared homosexuality an “abnormal lifestyle choice” and said Joe Biden was “not legitimately elected” president. The Texas GOP platform is routinely viewed as a hodgepodge of far-right fantasies, and these planks do nothing to contradict that verdict.

But another plank deserves more attention than it has received, because presents a historic break—and points to the direction for the Trumpist right moving forward. With its new platform, the Texas Republican Party has formally endorsed a referendum on the state seceding from the United States.....

Interesting.

You do know that the anti-pipeline protests in Canada are being funded by American oil interests. This is why there is a whole lot of protesting being done against any East-West pipelines and hardly any against North-South pipelines.

I guess that that's a good reason to proceed with the East-West pipelines - right?
