Viable indications based on Military Times annual polling and that I have posted here -- and referenced here several times -- are that Trump will not come near the military vote McCain earned and got, that GW got, that GHW got, and, that he is likely to fall catastrophically short of the military vote Reagan earned and got.

In the Military Times annual polling -- the only poll of active duty armed forces approved by Pentagon -- Trump is neck and neck with Obama in unfavorable/very unfavorable among this sampling while they are off duty. In the December 2019 annual survey, Trump was minus 13% off his November 2016 numbers. Trump's numbers at that time were lagging to begin with.

If the trend continues this year -- and the worse Trump makes things the worse Trump gets -- Trump will out Obama Obama in the tank among active duty armed forces personnel across the board.

Donald Trump is really not all that secretive about what he's thinking, he sort of says it. I think that there's a lot of evidence that he's worried that this terrible pandemic and his handling of the early stages, combined with the economic impact, could sink his presidency.

I believe it's too late, the stink of his mishandling of the crisis will hang on him all the way to November.

Way over the edge and into a spinning free fall of brain strain only to end up with extra silliness Trumper tantrums being tossed all over the place in the public square.
