It depends of definitions. They had it on two nights, in groups chosen at random. Close enough for this sort of discussion.
In other words, he never debated 16 other candidates. Some of them he never debated at all.

Read for comprehension. It does not say that. It says that he debated 9 others in the first debate. there were many debates.

Suppose one or two dropped out and he only debated 15 others. Is there a point?

I know how many debates there were. You should read for comprehension too. The original claim was that he debated 20 other candidates. He did not. He didn't debate 17 others either. He also didn't debate 15 others.

So, you are nit picking. Thanks for clarifying that detail.

You jumped in the conversation. I posted to someone else. Now you're sulking because you were wrong, too.

I’m looking forward to Trump’s complete mastery of all subjects as he dominates Sleepy Joe and wows the mods with his searing bon mots.

JOE! DON’T DO IT! BACK OUT NOW!

Trump and his minions are already trying to quickly flip the script from "Biden is a drooling old man who can't put on his pants" to "Biden is a seasoned debater, and a professional".

The idiots are now realizing they've created a scenario where all Biden has to do is show up to the debates and talk...and he'll have exceeded expectations.

Oh, and Trump is also a lousy debater...and his campaign knows it.
Where did you come up with that idea? If Biden shows up. He'll be exceeding expectations.

IMO, it would be setting an elevated tone if Chris Wallace opened requesting a statement from each candidate. For instance:

In your own words, describe what democracy means to you and what you'd do as President to further it.

Ya think?
Trump was asked what it means to be conservative and he gave some dumbass answer like, "Conservatives conserve....and stuff." LOL! I bet Biden would do a better job than Trump on the democracy question.

Since you are counting, it's your fail.

He ran as a democrat but he's an Independent. So his "own party" didn't screw him over as you contend in your post.
I never contended anyone screwed anyone.

It's a convenient Oligarch argument.
An argument from statistics is oligarchy?

Go ahead, Ikari. Go ahead and try to convince me that neither Biden-Harris nor Trump-Pence will win the election. I dare you. 😁

"Mr Biden, will you specifically denounce the violence caused by members of Antifa?"

"Mr Biden, you've publicly supported 'Defund The Police' during your campaign, but recently changed your stance. Please explain."

"Mr Biden, at least four times you've publicly supported banning fracking. Can you explain why you've recently flip-flopped on this subject?"

"Mr Biden, you took your son, Hunter with you to China on Air Force Two, and 10 days later, Hunter’s firm nabbed a deal worth up to $1.5 billion from the bank of China’s communist government. Why did you bring Hunter with you on a government plane while he was seeking business deals with a state-owned entity of the same government you were doing diplomacy with?"
"What public purpose was served by bringing Hunter with you on Air Force Two?"
"Did you have any involvement with your son becoming a board member of Burisma, even though you met with members of Burisma two days before Hunter was appointed to the board?"

"Mr Biden, what do you consider an 'ideal' amount of socialism would be for this country?"

"Mr Biden, what is your definition of "rich," and exactly how much of the tax burden should "the rich" be forced to pay? Also, do politicians qualify as "the rich" as well?"

"Mr Biden, do you support the Green New Deal? Yes or no."

Game, Set, Match.

"Mr Biden, will you specifically denounce the violence caused by members of Antifa?"
BIDEN: "Absolutely Chris. In fact, I said as much when the violence first started. I said “Protesting such brutality is right and necessary. It’s an utterly American response. But burning down communities and needless destruction is not. Violence that endangers lives is not.” But look at how we got here Chris, -CUE REHEARSED TALKING POINTS

"Mr Biden, you've publicly supported 'Defund The Police' during your campaign, but recently changed your stance. Please explain."
BIDEN: "Well, you know that isn't true Chris. You even fact-checked President Trump in real-time on this very point. And this war on facts that President Trump has created is incredibly damaging to America. Just look at -CUE REHEARSED TALKING POINTS"

"Mr. Trump, did you downplay a pandemic to avoid hurting your re-election chances?"
TRUMP: "No, absolutely not Chris, in fact I up-played it, in terms of action. My action was very strong. No President has ever up-played a virus as much as I have. Nobody. I mean, just look at what Hillary did. 33,000 emails Chris, 33,000. And that's just the beginning -CUE REHEARSED TALKING POINTS

All of this stuff is boring and predictable. This is what I would like to see:

CHRIS: Now for the lightning round. The first to buzz in gets to respond. Which nations are included in the G7 Summit, and what are the names of the Heads of State for each?

I think they both should be made to swear on the bible that they will not tell a lie during the debate, and then give the tally of the proven lies for each at the end.😀

i might watch some of the highlights. however, i can't stand more than ten seconds or so of Tweety at a time, and if Wallace is involved, that gives faux state tv a claim to credibility. no thanks.

No tres, that wasn't the original claim.

"President Trump is not all that bad a debater. To get to Hillary, he participated in debates with 20 or so other candidates, and he's the one that lives at 1600 Penn."

I don't know why you're pursuing this argument. The point is President Trump debated a bunch of other candidates and won. I'll amend my post to a bunch if that will make you feel better,

You just said it again. He didn't participate in debates with 20 or so candidates. Neither did I. Neither did you. Neither did Christie or Paul or Cruz or anyone else.

20 or so

Tres, give it up. It's not relative to the point. And it's not worth a fight. Go back to Trump bad.
