The Middle East is in a major battle and what has the POTUS been doing? that is correct playing golf. :/

This article from Rare.us hit the nail on the head with how Obama is leading, or lack of, and what he needs to do to help fix the USA's foreign policy problems.

America has two different ways in which it can influence the behavior of the Egyptian military: economic and military aid. Why aren't we doing either? When will Obama become a leader? After his term?

If we send military aid to Egypt then America's critics will whine about how civilians are being killed.

If we cease economic aid then we'll be accused of destroying Egypt's economy.

If we do nothing at all will be accused of being selfish and immoral.

...and lets just pretend that Lord Obama is missing from the manger and YOU are in charge this week. You would do exactly what?

• Throw your support to the Muslim Brotherhood, an Islamist group certainly sympathetic to Al Qaeda?
• Throw your support to the Egyptian Military?
• Send in US forces as "peacekeepers"?
• Play golf? If you're not a golfer, just substitute whatever amuses you.

Maybe because none of the above options will sort out the issues that Egypt has and that the US has no way in influencing what will happen in egypt except through drastic interventionist action. The best Obama can do is set up an international coalition to provide food, medical supplies and medical assistance to the people of Egypt through this entire debacle.

A) it is certainly correct that Egypt's problems are deep, inherent, and to an extent intractable.
B) that does not excuse a foreign policy so without basis or intent that every side in Egypt now thinks we ares supporting their opposition

In order for Obama to 'lead' he would have to make a decision (one not just directed towards the crippled and dependent pets he daily panders to). If he made a decision he would have to come down on a side and risk being judged. Considering his track record...its not hard to understand why he is petrified to do that.

But really...what did anyone expect? He was elected because of his skin tone. CERTAINLY not on his qualifications. Even democrats are daily expressing their disappointment...their disillusion...or that they REALLY didnt want to vote for him but considering the alternative its all they could do.

Why violate the Prime Directive? I can live with people thinking the US is selfish and immoral. They do anyway. The US should withdraw financial aid forever.
