At U.N., Chavez calls Bush 'the devil'

http://news.yahoo.com/fc/world/united_nations

UNITED NATIONS - Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez took his verbal battle with the United States to the floor of the U.N. General Assembly on Wednesday, calling President Bush "the devil."

Chavez better understand that Bush in front of a National audience stated Jesus was his favorite Philospher. He probably doesn't know. :2wave:

Re: At U.N., Chavez calls Bush 'the devil'

It seems like that after his 12th birthday Chavez stopped growing up

Re: At U.N., Chavez calls Bush 'the devil'

I am outraged that the United Nations would allow a dictator such as this little weasle to stand at the podium and spew such hatred.

And he wants to join the list of nation wanting nuclear capabilities?

The Democrats will see him as a hero, and think he is not a threat whatsoever to the United States......

Just watch to see what Pelosi says.....

Re: At U.N., Chavez calls Bush 'the devil'

Ahhhhhh........this is an example of the people that America is supposed to try to have a rational discussion with. I wish someone would explain how that would be possible.

Oh I love this one, I'm changing my sig.

UNITED NATIONS (AP) -- Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez took his verbal battle with the United States to the floor of the U.N. General Assembly on Wednesday, calling President Bush "the devil."

"The devil came here yesterday," Chavez said. "He came here talking as if he were the owner of the world."

The leftist leader, who joined Iran last week in an alliance against U.S. influence, accused Washington of "domination, exploitation and pillage of peoples of the world."

"We appeal to the people of the United States and the world to halt this threat, which is like a sword hanging over our head," he said.

I agree with this: "accused Washington of 'domination, exploitation and pillage of peoples of the world.'"

However, his use of the word "devil" was unnecessary and over the top.

Maybe it was over the top but there's a video on yahoo.com... you'll hear some members of the U.N. chuckling about his comments.

Wow--chuckles? The president of the United States is being made fun of at the U.N. That's sad. I'll watch the video later.

Chavez better watch his mouth. If Bush did make War in Iraq for oil as Chavez(and other U.N. members) has been saying, Then I don't think he would be afraid to invade Venezuala for the barrals of oil Chavez has there. So yea, Chavez better watch his mouth.

Good choice of reading there:2razz: . He's right about the U.N ,it would work far more justly/effectively if all countrys had a more equal say.

Yes it was more like a 'roast' than a speech.

good point-it merely proves Chavez is a liar. Its like some of the moonbats who call Bush a dictator or a fascist. If they believed that BS they wouldn't be spewing insults about the man. It would be rather easy to crush Chavez and take his oil-Venzuela is hardly in the same league as even Iraq

My god will you listen to yourselves..............

Bush isn’t the devil, he's a dumbass but not the devil.
Sorry but the UN is a gutless bunch of criminals...
and last the War for Oil?...:rofl

Here we go again 1990 all over again...Just how much of the Iraqi oil has made it here?....hmmmm?

I have a friend in Europe right now, he can't take the U.S. anymore and has an opportunity to move to Spain so he's giving it a shot. He visited Europe several times last year and this year, most of the people he has encountered in various countries are afraid of the U.S. right now and we all know that fear triggers anger...

Bush is a dumbass you're right, I wish the country would have realized this in 2000.

The U.N. being a gutless bunch of criminals? I don't see why they don't like Bush then.

90% of Kuwait's oil refinery happened to be on the Iraqi side of the boarder.... but you're right.

Well they sure don't care about our help in WWII anymore...

They're not ranting per se but they are watching the U.S. like one watches a problem child.

You dems shouldn't have found two idiots who were stupider than Bush to run against him but you did. one was a clown who failed to complete 2 of the three academic programs he entered and the other was an even smarmier schmuck whose IQ and GPA was lower than Bush's. So what would we have realized in 2000? that the dems couldn't find someone who could even win his own fgn home state?

what they really are watching is a country that is more successful than they could hope to be and they are jealous. Its like the French-what was McCain's great comment-they are like a one time attractive actress who is living off looks long gone and acting as if she is still beautiful

Did I say that the war in Iraq was for oil? No, I said if it was, then the venezualan president, who knows that he has a weak country and a whole lot of oil, would be watching his mouth.

Personally, while I cannot stand George Bush as our president, I certainly don't like to hear someone calling him names in a setting like that. Chavez could express his feelings without calling Bush the "devil."

Wow! Chavez holding up a Chomsky's Hegemony or Survival! Rock on Hugo. ;)

Bush wanted to assassinate Chavez, and Bush briefly got Chavez out of power. What do you expect?

Well I happen to think that Al Gore would have been a great president who would have continued the work he'd done as V.P., but Leiberman killed him in the anti-semite south.

Lot's of people want to blame Clinton for terrorism these days what with the U.S. failure in Somolia supposedly emboldening Al-Qaeda. Not to mention failing to get Osama Bin Laden.

But I'd like to remind everyone of a greater moment of weakness the U.S. had during the questionable results of the 2000 election.

Our country couldn't figure out what to do with bags and bags of uncounted ballots, hanging chads and voters claiming to have been turned away. We looked like we didn't have a fair polling system or a government for 2 weeks. What kind of message do you think that sent Al-Qaeda?

That's also about the same time the economy started to go into recession but everybody wants to blame Clinton for that too...

Hey Dufus! Kindly post evidence to your prepostorous claims please, thanks.
