President Biden gives remarks on the importance of our voting rights and democracy in the United States of America. Thank you Mr. President for your patriotism and concern for our country and its citizens.

Biden is a fool.He made a total ass of himself.

Great speech. About time he started playing hardball with congress.

If the Democrats don't get voting rights passed then the Republicans have it set up to pick the winners in our next election.

Yeah. He certainly strikes fear in the hearts of congresscritters.

He was screaming all over spraying and pandering to the black crowd. No shame Joe

This speech was the usual Biden cluster-****.

He lied again about getting arrested.

He called Harris "President".

President Biden is doing well IMO.

We're lucky to have him in service of our nation.

Yes, they have to get voting rights passed to assure free and fair elections in the US. In the meantime, hopefully they are working with voters to get them registered, get them IDs if needed, arrange transport to the polling places, etc. The trumplicans already admitted without cheating they can no longer win elections, and none of them care about the rule of law or our democratic processes. The trulplicans don't want Americans to vote, they want to cheat and pick a trump sucker as their winner.

You guys really seem to miss the grandfather clause. Because, you know, states' rights.

The 2020 federal election drew the United States’ highest voter turnout in more than a century, breaking records despite the Covid-19 pandemic and efforts to undermine the election process with the Big Lie of a stolen election.

In a backlash to this historic voter participation, many state lawmakers have proposed and enacted legislation to make it harder for Americans to vote, justifying these measures with falsehoods steeped in racism about election irregularities and breaches of election security.

Between January 1 and September 27, at least 19 states enacted 33 laws that make it harder for Americans to vote. https://www.brennancenter.org/our-work/research-reports/voting-laws-roundup-october-2021

The Times reports, "President Biden endorsed changing Senate rules to pass new voting rights protections during a speech in Atlanta on Tuesday, the most significant step he has taken to pressure lawmakers to act on an issue he has called the biggest test of America’s democracy since the Civil War.

"Mr. Biden did not go so far as to call for full-scale elimination of the filibuster, a Senate tradition that allows the minority party to block legislation that fails to garner 60 votes, but said he supported an exception to the filibuster in the case of voting rights. Either endeavor has slim chances of winning support from all 50 Senate Democrats, who are already facing threats of retaliation from Republicans in the chamber.

"But Mr. Biden, recounting a swath of restrictive voting measures in place across the country, said Republicans were standing on the wrong side of a moral imperative to protect “the heart and soul” of American democracy."

I'm still trying to figure out who's being denied the right to vote.

No one who wants to vote, is eligible to do so and follows the law and the process.

That's always been my thought. To listen to him here in GA today, you'd think people were actively terrorized and forcibly denied the ability to vote last November.

He regurgitates what ever is on the Telepromter. There is nothing in Georgias election laws that denies any legitimate voter a chance to vote.

No one. No one ever said otherwise. But many are being discouraged to vote, which is the opposite of what we need to be doing to strengthen our democracy. When you make it harder to vote instead of more convenient/easier to vote, then you are discouraging the vote. 2020 was great because so many voted---let's encourage that.

Who is being discouraged to vote? Are you referring to minorities? If so, are they somehow less capable of casting a ballot? I'm all for fair elections and I can speak at least to the state of GA that it's pretty darn easy to vote here.

Many states are having fewer polling places, for instance........and that makes it less easy, etc, etc

McConnell make a great floor speech pointing out that Georgia's election laws allow more freedom - early voting, for instance, than either Delaware's or New York's (think Schumer).
