The nearly identical, tepid reaction to the "soon to be Trump party" theft of Obama's Mar, 2016, Garland appointment to the SCOTUS has happened again, with dems "rolling over" as they did in Mar - Nov, 2016 (see Hillary's apology for labeling only half of Trump's cult as "deplorable"), and, 2020 dem primary voters rejecting actual progressives, in favor of Klobucharized, geriatric, Obama style appeaser, Biden, who begat (where was she, since Ruth died?) Kamala Harris.

This was the week to hear "the left", "roar", but all I heard were some annoyed, "meows"!

Meanwhile, on the other side of the "ring", the soon to be permanently installed, autocrats, were not at all bashful telling the country who they really are, and what they're really gonna do!

Prediction, a few will not step up, attempting to stop this, here and now, 168,000 more will die between now and Jan 1, per the U. of Washington's latest covid-19 morbidity forecast, vs. half, 84,000, if fastidious wearing of face masks became the norm. See FL Gov's latest deadly orders!

A few will not step up, now, including Trump's 48 year old "nominee", forever S-Staining herself, in front of her own family and friends, enthusiastically accepting an lifetime appointment of considerable controversy, to say the least, from the impeached, unindicted co-conspirator, aka "individual one", the stainer-in-chief.
This conman, and soon to be autocrat, reportedly interviewed, "only Amy", for a lifetime appointment to a SCOTUS seat Clinton planned to interview 40 in the process of filling, 27 years ago "Only Amy", was so recently, thoroughly screened by the FBI, to have any prospect of being installed on the SCOTUS by Nov 3, in time to assist in a court awarded, undemocratic "victory" to der leader, as payback.

All judges and even elected dog catchers are supposed to at least go through the motions of avoiding, "even the appearance of impropriety".

Reading the posts in these threads since 2005 convince me few understand how close the average dems or independent's political orientation is to that of what republicans and their successors, Trump party members inaccurately believe of themselves, that they are reasonably oriented!

The truth is, despite Obama, Eric Holder, and most dems and dem pols actually being oriented right of center, their "opposition" on this forum and in the general public are so far right, they risk falling off the political spectrum. No joke when Bill Clinton was called "the best republican president of the 20th century".
Obama caved on his promise to declassify Abu Ghraib abuse photos in the first ten days, Holder appointed John Durham to "investigate" CIA torture, and return no indictments. To be fair, dems elect institutionalists "in it for the long haul", types with far sighted thinking anticipating their opposition actually does practice, "what comes around, goes around", vs. dems, who actually do not.

Trump, Barr, McConnell, 52 other senators.. Romney, who declared he is fine joining all his fellow Trump party senators, and Trump himself, who Romney voted 7 months ago for remove of, for "high crimes and misdemeanors", in endorsing Trump nominating to a stolen SCOTUS seat, 37 days before Romney et al, had the option of following the republican 2016 mantra, "let the voters decide", instead support Trump interviewing only one candidate to bring about, in the nick of time, Trump's publicly stated purpose! https://www.foxnews.com/us/trump-supreme-court-decide-election

Experiencing all of the "hissy fits" since the "riot" closing down the Miami-Dade County, FL vote recount in 2000,
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brooks_Brothers_riot ... and the rabid pushback since Nov., 2008, of the rare, surprising election victory of the actually, center-right, "Negro in the White House", now it is apparent the extreme right Trump party does not comprehend what Trump, Barr, McConnell, and perhaps a few of their congressional colleagues fully grasp. The dem primary voters stamped out what little left of center contention there was during this election season. There is "no left" there, and the debates and the manner
Trump party will proceed in will have no regard for the actual, unfavorable election results, "the will of the voters", Trump will remain, no matter what!

Barr role raises questions as Trump allies and conservative media seize on ‘discarded’ Pennsylvania ballots to fuel outrage
Sept. 25, 2020

Democrats don't have the institutional power to stop the confirmation of Barrett. Sorry, but that's just all there is to it.

But if they win in November, they'll have the institutional power to literally save the country from fascism. The question is whether they'll choose to use that power.

I've been persuaded by the entire, Dem leadership "schtick" that they have neither the, orientation, the stomach, or the will to prevail in this struggle.
The lessons of the 20th century and earlier are that a hyper-energized minority willing to do whatever it takes to win, has demonstrated, time after time, surprising success.

There is both a mindset and a structural deficit. Graham is not head of Senate Judiciary by virtue of seniority. Feinstein heads her party's representation on that same committee as a result of strict observance of seniority.

Dems will in the majority afford dictator-in-waiting, nominated Amy the "sit down" McConnell instructed caucus members, every single one of them, to deny Obama nominee, Merrick Garland, just as Trump lavished attention on a parade of autocratic heads of state in his White House, but denied to the president of Ukraine, to this day.

Candidate Bernie or Warren would be emphasizing planned legislation to expand the SCOTUS, all this past week, if Trump party did not keep to it's own stated, 2016 "principles".

Instead of dem senators committing to block the entrance to the senate with a human chain comprised of their own caucus, from last Sunday until next Jan. 20 if Trump and his party's senators do not "retreat to their barracks" as far as what they insisted was "good for the goose will be good for the gander", in 2016, instead, dems and compliant, "liberal" media were gushing with relief over empty, vague reassurances from these same, unprincipled liars, in reaction to Trump's undermining of the integrity of the election process and what used to be called "democratic norms", peaceful transfer of power; see Bush 41's, departing, "I'm rooting for your success", letter left in "the big desk".

Barrack Obama once said, "elections have consequences". Republican stole nothing from Obama. Presidents nominate, the senate confirms. The voters chose Republicans to hold the sentate, so they held that power in 2016. Nothing was stolen. What your are suggesting is that the Republican controlled senate should have just surrendered conservative Justice Scalia's seat. Why would they do that?

Right now it is different than 2016, A Republican President and a Republican senate. But again, why would the surrender RBG seat when the Dems "lost the coin toss" so to speak? That would be stupid.

The wheel of fortune turns how it turns. Stop crying over kismet.

This was the week to hear "the left", "roar", but all I heard were some annoyed, "meows"!

Smart, because they aren't holding any cards. They would sound silly to squawk too loudly about what can't be changed on this. Better to play to the voters if they think that might help put Biden over, or take back the senate. You have to play based on the cards you have, and if you feel you aren't holding the right cards--or any, you fold.

How would your advice have been received by Gen. Robert E. Lee? Or, for that matter, by Vladimir Putin? The dem voters shrank from voting to nominate either "Trump killer", Bernie or Warren. Instead of indicating he was committed to incentivizing as many voters as possible to actually come out and vote, as JFK did with his strategic choice of Texan LBJ as his running mate, "ole Joe" made a selection resulting in "galvanizing" a state he already had, CA, as well as a voting bloc he could already count on, black women. Unlike Hillary, Joe was Obama's running mate, twice!

He couldn't find an hispanic from Florida, or for that matter, any woman from Florida, or an actual progressive, Warren, to attempt to round out the ticket? Last I looked, "the little brown girl", Nikki Haley, isn't running.

If Biden, Harris, Schumer, or Pelosi are not walking the walk, or even talking the talk at half the pitch the Trump bloc is, why would the average, non-Cuban, Florida resident hispanic preoccupied with working to keep food on the table, a roof over his family, and covid-19 out of their bodies, make the time to stick his head up and over Trump dominated news cycles and barrages of his and his supporters' disinfo, or make sure all eligible household members, friends, or co-workers are registered and vote? Gore-Lieberman lost in 2000 partially because of a lack of demonstrated will to win.

Here's Lieberman's son, Matt..... no one in the party with the influence to persuade Matt to stand down and STFU?

If this is not compelling evidence of "levying war against the U.S.", or of incapacity rising to a level of malgovernance resulting from the Vice President and the cabinet not implementing defensive provisions of the 25th amendment, then what is it?

Nearly 210,000 are dead, 168,000 additional deaths are forecast by January 3rd. Is there any defense, appealing to a jury of reasonable people, aside from insanity?
" The offense of “levying war” against the United States was interpreted narrowly in Ex parte Bollman & Swarthout (1807), a case stemming from the infamous alleged plot led by former Vice President Aaron Burr to overthrow the American government in New Orleans. The Supreme Court dismissed charges of treason that had been brought against two of Burr’s associates—Bollman and Swarthout—on the grounds that their alleged conduct did not constitute levying war against the United States within the meaning of the Treason Clause. It was not enough, Chief Justice John Marshall’s opinion emphasized, merely to conspire “to subvert by force the government of our country” by recruiting troops, procuring maps, and drawing up plans. Conspiring to levy war was distinct from actually levying war. Rather, a person could be convicted of treason for levying war only if there was an “actual assemblage of men for the purpose of executing a treasonable design.” In so holding, the Court sharply confined the scope of the offense of treason by levying war against the United States."

The game plan is the opposite of this "ballot box cramming" because the decentralized U.S. voting systems discourage such a plan.

Two challenges are to be "taken care of", by :

1.) Putting on steroids the Hunter Biden smear, or even introducing a different "Op" rolled out in desperation this weekend in reaction to the tepid media interest in the Hunter Biden messaging.

The purpose is to overcome early and mail-in voting volume blunting the effectiveness of the smear.

This will be the excuse repeated as often as necessary, "Biden is too corrupt and controversial to attract so many votes. If people had an opportunity to vote again, knowing what they know now...." the Google search term, "how to change my vote?" was the introduction of steps beyond Trump's rhetoric to instill, "it doesn't matter if Biden got more votes, it's all rigged!"

2.) Holding a ridiculous number of rallies as close to the election as possible to instill, no matter how great a ballot margin Biden is reported to have received, the idea that Biden could not possibly have received so many votes, if they were legitimate, just look at how small the crowds were at the few campaign events he held, compared to Trump's.

If these set-ups can stir up enough violent protest, emergency will be declared, election count suspended, we'll take another look at it later, or maybe hold a new election, "down the road".

Perception is reality and a substitute for laws.
