Greetings and welcome to the Praise thread.

People of faith in G-d have a great desire to praise Him. It doesn't matter what denomination, those who love the LORD desire to praise Him and give thanks. So for all believers let this be a place where you can praise Him and give thanks and share anytime you want in song and word.
To kick things off I would like to praise G-d's greatness.
Psalm 145

145
I will extol You, my God, O King,
And I will bless Your name forever and ever.
2
Every day I will bless You,
And I will praise Your name forever and ever.
3
Great is the Lord, and highly to be praised,
And His greatness is unsearchable.
4
One generation shall praise Your works to another,
And shall declare Your mighty acts.
5
On the glorious splendor of Your majesty
And on Your wonderful works, I will meditate.
6
Men shall speak of the power of Your awesome acts,
And I will tell of Your greatness.
7
They shall eagerly utter the memory of Your abundant goodness
And will shout joyfully of Your righteousness.
8
The Lord is gracious and merciful;
Slow to anger and great in lovingkindness.
9
The Lord is good to all,
And His mercies are over all His works.
10
All Your works shall give thanks to You, O Lord,
And Your godly ones shall bless You.
11
They shall speak of the glory of Your kingdom
And talk of Your power;
12
To make known to the sons of men Your mighty acts
And the glory of the majesty of Your kingdom.
13
Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom,
And Your dominion endures throughout all generations.
14
The Lord sustains all who fall
And raises up all who are bowed down.
15
The eyes of all look to You,
And You give them their food in due time.
16
You open Your hand
And satisfy the desire of every living thing.
17
The Lord is righteous in all His ways
And kind in all His deeds.
18
The Lord is near to all who call upon Him,
To all who call upon Him in truth.
19
He will fulfill the desire of those who fear Him;
He will also hear their cry and will save them.
20
The Lord keeps all who love Him,
But all the wicked He will destroy.
21
My mouth will speak the praise of the Lord,
And all flesh will bless His holy name forever and ever.

Beautiful, Well Done.
Will be back to add my voice.

I praise the Lord, who in His great wisdom, allowed us free will. To make our mistakes, to love and cherish others, to be selfish and selfless.

In all cases He loves us nonetheless, but His forbearance allows us to earn our own self-respect and that of others.

{1 Corinthians 15:52-58}

In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal [must] put on immortality. So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where [is] thy sting? O grave, where [is] thy victory? The sting of death [is] sin; and the strength of sin
[is] the law. But thanks [be] to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

Thanks be to God indeed!!

O send out Thy light and Thy truth! Let them lead me. Let them bring me unto Thy holy hill and to Thy tabernacles.

4 Then will I go unto the altar of God, unto God my exceeding joy; yea, upon the harp will I praise Thee, O God, my God.

5 Why art thou cast down, O my soul? And why art thou disquieted within me? Hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him, who is the health of my countenance and my God.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end

Psalm 100

Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands.
Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing.
Know ye that the Lord he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.
For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.

Morning Prayer.

Jubilate Deo. Psalm c.

O BE joyful in the LORD, all ye lands: * serve the LORD with gladness, and come before his presence with a song.
Be ye sure that the LORD he is God; it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; * we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
O go your way into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise; * be thankful unto him, and speak good of his Name.
For the LORD is gracious, his mercy is everlasting; * and his truth endureth from generation to generation.

Glory be to the Father and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost
As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be

Have you ever been talking to the LORD praising Him and thanking Him for his many blessings and find your arms and hands just out of nowhere go up in praise? I have.

The LORD has many different groups who all praise him differently. In preparation for worship a key element is in song. In orthodox churches the choir is to the back of the church often in a loft. There is no instrumental accompaniment. The choir sings a cappella in beautiful harmony. You can not see their faces as you are facing the alter where the priest is busy preparing for a service of worship. Sometimes you sing along with the choir and sometimes not. Sometimes it is in a language you understand and sometimes not and even if you don't understand the language you know your heart is being prepared for worship.

In many protestant churches the choir is seated at the front of the church behind the alter but either way it is a big part of worship. Singing praises prepares the heart for worship.

I have posted this video before here on DP and it is now in the archives. Today I do so again. Because it is a bit different in the way I worship... the song.....boy the song just tells it all.

The song is so right as no matter what I have endured in the end, never lost my hope, my joy, my faith and my praise. And every time my arms and hands just shoot up all on their own every time I listen to it. :)

Evening faithful. Tonight I would just like to praise the LORD for seeing me through the latest patch of rough road called life. The Great Physician cared for me through months when my first encounter with Medicare was disastrous where they first claiming I could use my family doctor and specialists then later said I could not. So I changed providers but that didn't go into effect until January.
And all this occurred right before the holidays when life around here gets busy. I got sick with a virus and I have a condition called RA it is more than arthritis it is about a disease that attacks your good tissue and your immune system is compromised. When you get sick you can not take the RA medicine because it shoots down what immune system you have. I look back now and am in awe at how G-d got me through it all with a smile on my face and all the cooking, baking, preparation everything! I am in awe.

Well this week I spent going to doctor offices. I got in to see the specialist and got shots in my knees, long overdue bloodwork, and I volunteered for a study to share my data in hopes it will provide help to those in the future diagnosed with this disease. Today was beautiful as I was able to move without pain. I also went to my family doctor for my annual checkup. He put me on antibiotics because of the virus of 5 weeks ago has turned into an infection in my lungs. I got an overdue flu shot and pneumonia shot but overall he was not real alarmed . But wants me to call if I don't see any major change in the next week.
Worthy is the Lamb as He seen me through.

Everyday I have a desire to praise the LORD for something! Don't you?

Today I want to praise the LORD for His goodness and faithfulness. He has answered my prayers.

Praise be to God for taking one of His children home today. We will miss Billy Graham here, but are glad that he is finally home.

I got a feeling he heard the words "Well Done good and faithful servant!"

Who is G-d ?
I take it this was a typing error however if you're speaking about God then lets praise him.
Wait...I see.
G-d means Good day...okay gotcha.

She is using the orthodox Jewish custom of writing God as G-d. That comes from the tradition that if the word God is written out on parchment, there is special customs and rituals required to dispose of that parchment as not do defile God's name. The use of that is the electronic age is because pages can be printed out, and it would lead someone to unwittingly violate that custom. I always felt that the term God is not God's name.. they feel differently. So, Vesper is following the Orthodox Jewish custom.

I agree...God or Lord is a title, like king or president...it is not God's name...

When I am writing of HIM it is HIS name. G-d has many names. All have different meanings. Jews customarily do not pronounce any of G-d's many Names except in prayer or study.
I write G-d out of personal respect.

I write the name of G-d the way I do because He is HOLY.

I want to praise the LORD today for providing a way to graft me onto the tree. I want to thank Him for my forgiveness.Passover begins Friday, March 30
at sunset (in 30 days) ends Saturday, April 7. Easter, the celebration of the resurrected LORD is Sunday, April 1 within the time period of Passover. It is a pity we Christians celebrate His Resurrection under the name of a pagan god because Yeshua is our Passover Lamb. I just don't get that one. But anyway I praise Him and enter His gates with thanksgiving in my heart for my salvation.

Praise to God for giving me the strength to give up one of my favorite treats for Lent in sacrifice of Jesus Christ's journey.

I agree, Vesper...I want nothing to do with paganism...that is why we don't observe Easter at all but we do observe Jesus' last meal gathering before his death, as he directly commanded...no mention was ever made by Jesus or the apostles about remembering the day of his resurrection, only his death...his sacrifice is what gives us the opportunity for life...

"Also, he took a loaf, gave thanks, broke it, and gave it to them, saying: “This means my body, which is to be given in your behalf. Keep doing this in remembrance of me.” Luke 22:19

The day falls on Nisan 14, which was known as Passover...the Passover was distinct from the Festival of the Unleavened Bread, which lasted from Nisan 15 to 21, so Nisan 14 was the important date Jesus told us to remember, not a date that ran into the Festival of Unleavened Bread....

This year Nisan 14 falls on the evening of March 31st, after sundown...

Today I want to Praise the LORD because yesterday I went to a shower for my niece at a small church outside the city and unknown to me one of my students in Sunday School was the wife of the Pastor of the church. She came to me and with a heartfelt greeting hugged me and then told everyone present I was a special Sunday School teacher in her life. I was humbled. She went on to say that every year they were ready to graduate from my class she and others went to the Sunday school superintendent to ask that I would be promoted with them. Gosh what an honor to have these beautiful children unbeknown to me asking for me to be their teacher for the following year.
She asked me where I was attending church and I told her I have not yet found a home. She said that was not acceptable. Because even though at my age I may not be able to handle pre teens what I did have left G-d could use. She was right.

I heard pretty much the same thing at a funeral at my former church of a loved one when asked where I was attending church. When the answer was nowhere, their reply was unacceptable. I have no doubt there are many at this time praying for me and for a new mission to serve the Lord will come forth

I want to praise the LORD for answered prayer. A loved one had a prognosis that was very grim the other day and today he went to a specialist and it was a 360 filled with nothing less than a full recovery. Prayers of many were being lifted up on his behalf and they were answered.

Hallelujah

Praise to God for giving comfort to an elderly gentleman who had to place his beloved wife into a retirement home. It is nobody I know personally...we just met at a check out counter. He felt the need to tell his story, we ended up praying together, and he felt very much loved and at peace after.

That's super. Thanks for sharing.

My praise today is in information I read telling something really special happening on the base of Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri. Since March of this year nearly 2000 troops have come to the LORD.
