If there is a way to change the number of posts per page, could we have that option? It makes conversations easier to follow.
 
This isn't possible without breaking existing links. This isn't something we can do.

Can't you just make the option available, broken links and all, and leave it up to the user whether he wants to display more content, or have working links, or set it up so that if you are displaying more posts and click on a link, it reloads the page with the limited number of posts displayed?
