like it use to be. I keep hearing its "Free Speech" but this is not what our founding fathers had in mind. Porno should be banned, it serves no purpose, or at least put a ban on it now, we have enough films to keep people busy for a life time, I think there has been enough of this free Speech in which nothing is said.

Free Speech was so we could protect our Freedom and Nation, not so sickos can get off, and not to mention how many people's lives are destroyed by the industry.

I think God will punish us for what we have allowed.

I think this is the most telling line in your post. All you are trying to do is push your religioius beliefs on everyone else.

Tell me, what is it about sex that you find so offensive?

If it were not for Porn (and Al Gore - heh) we wouldn't have the internet or even email. That industry has the lead in paying for the newest technologies for internet and bandwidth.

Food for thought. :2wave:

BTW, moved this thread to "Off topic". You can enjoy your feedom of speech, but please do so in the correct category. This has nothing to do with Political Parties.

Sorry to say it, but that's not true at all. The internet started off as ARPANET (a military project), spread to science, and then became commercialized.

History of the Internet.

Oh brother, Robodoon. Just don't watch it for God's sake (pun intended ). Maybe it doesn't serve a purpose for you. To me, as long as consenting adults are involved in the movie, it is legal. No one is forced to watch it.

I think God will punish us for what we have allowed.

This, of course, assumes there is a God, and if he is as powerful as people allege he is, why wouldn't he have prevented such vulgarity?

Look, if God didn't want us engaging in sex, he wouldn't have made it feel good.

My point was, capitolism (porn) is what has grown the internet to what it is today - once it went commercial - Thanks American Airlines!

Where it not for the porn industry, we would prob still be in the 1990's technologically (is that a word?) speaking. There would be much less interest and the "information" age would have taken much much longer to get here.

Most people would be like our grandparents - will get there eventually or whats this email thing all about?

Sex sells - just watch a few commercials on TV prime time.

ASCII porn - woot!!

In a Nation where the States are guaranteed a Republican form of government, the Nation cannot make porn illegal without violating the rights of a State that may want porn legal. The problem we have is that some “liberals” have a view of “democracy” that believes it has a right to shove pornography down the throats of States that do not want their simpleton “adults” being exposed to an enticement to lust. Once you adopt such a philosophical view of “States Rights,” where the State has no right to forbid the sale and distribution of pornography within its borders it naturally grows into pressure of a “right” to spread your views to others.

It is no wonder they called us the “Great Satan” when we had a president that lusted in Playboy:

"I've looked on a lot of women with lust. I've committed adultery in my heart many times. This is something that God recognizes I will do--and I have done it--and God forgives me for it." (Jimmy Carter, prior to the 444 days of glory in Iran)

“My words fly up, my thoughts remain below: Words without thoughts never to heaven go.” (Hamlet Act III, Scene III)

Maybe that is why I saw huge mobs of Iranian women that WANTED to cover their ornaments from such huge “liberal” teeth.

I have a real problem with you blaming the indecency of porn on those dirty, rotten 'liberals'!!! Granted, porn may be disgusting to some, but who are you to tell people that they are not allowed to enjoy it?! Tell me you've never had a night at home alone with a good movie, some lotion, and a box of tissues!!

Hey, what we do in the privacy of our own home is one thing, our constitution protects that right, what we shove down the throats of others in public is another thing. How can the Muslim understand the “principles of democracy” if it is argued that “liberty” demands they accept pornography (from their perspective) in their own State?

“Article (2): 1st - Islam is the official religion of the state and is a basic source
of legislation:
(a) No law can be passed that contradicts the undisputed rules of Islam.
(b) No law can be passed that contradicts the principles of democracy.
(c) No law can be passed that contradicts the rights and basic freedoms
outlined in this constitution.
2nd - This constitution guarantees the Islamic identity of the majority of the
Iraqi people and the full religious rights for all individuals and the freedom of
creed and religious practices.”

“Article (7): 1st - Entities or trends that advocate, instigate, justify or propagate
racism, terrorism, ‘takfir‘ (declaring someone an infidel), sectarian cleansing,
are banned, especially the Saddamist Baath Party in Iraq and its symbols,
under any name. It will be not be allowed to be part of the multilateral political
system in Iraq, which should be defined according to the law.
2nd - The state will be committing to fighting terrorism in all its forms and will
work to prevent its territory from being a base or corridor or an arena for its
(terrorism's) activities.”

“’Liberation defends the freedom of expression,’ French daily Liberation said in a headline introducing two of the cartoons.” http://www.cnn.com/2006/WORLD/europe...eut/index.html

What are they telling Islam? That they can’t have democracy unless they accept so-called “freedom of expression” in their own State too? I think a clarification is in order, because they have played right into the hands of those Moslems that are against democracy.

That thing on page one is ugly, this is typically what I like:

I like long blond hair. And proportions that are not out of the ordinary. Sue me.

Now get out the lotion, if you like what I like.

Shove pornography down the throats...? Nice pun. :tongue4: The problem we have is some "conservatives" have a view of "democracy" that believes it has a right to shove puritan :notlook:  beliefs down the throats of all law-abiding Americans living in states that do want their consenting "adults" to have the freedom to choose to watch whatever they want, even if it's enticement to lust, because we live in a free nation.
Restricting the freedoms of others goes against the liberal idealogy. States rights prevail, and should in a Republic such as ours, but we are also a Democracy and things are decided by the people. However, give the Bush administration their way and nothing will be allowed -- at least not in the open.
It's inconvenient to have to deal with the intrusion of porn pop-ups, and frankly I'm sick of breasts coming at me on every network channel, so I choose not to watch it. I would rather not have to police what my kids watch either, but Reaganomics took care of regulating such things in favor of the "free" market system dominated by corporate media profits. Sex sells... BIG.
There is no "right" to spread any views to others, and there shouldn't be a "right" to remove the freedoms of some because of the beliefs of another. There are those in every state that don't want porn, but there are also those in every state that do.

Hey.. Porno needs to stay legal!!! I support it 100%. If it were to turn illegal, then like, I couldnt make any pics for my sweety!!!

Well, I think child porn and animal porn should be illegal. But not most other kinds, just because I think people should have the right to view it if they want to.

I do not think pornography should be illegal, but I will say that I do believe that the objectification of women in the media is something that is unsettling.

Pornography being the most blatant form, though not it's sole form. It's in advertising. It's in the mainstream media. It's in fashion.

I'm not going to tell you I've never seen pornography. I'm not going to tell you that the cheerleaders at the Starz game last night didn't make the game more enjoyable. I'm not going to tell you that I avert my eyes when a woman wears a shirt a size too small and a skirt that stops in the middle of her thigh. I will tell you that I do believe that it is the women's choice to engage in such activity if she so desires, and possibly this is all just a by product of our beloved capitalism. I do find it grossely disturbing that possibly these things might have terrible consequences on not so much the females in question but on our society. A girl grows up seeing the way the girls on TV act. A girl grows up seeing the way that boys act. If a girl sees women enduring the ice rink in half a shirt for the entertainment of the male dominated atmosphere, what does she think? About other women and about herself? What does a boy think about women?

I don't know the answer, but it feels like this watered down prostitution is everywhere. I even believe prostitution should be the choice of an individual rather than the decision of the government, but I also believe that women should have respect for themselves, and men for their female counterparts. I simply think that when anyone, male or female, allows themselves to be used in such a manner, and that when anyone, male or female, sees another person being used in such a manner, something happens. Again, I don't know for sure.
