I do not think pornography should be illegal, but I will say that I do believe that the objectification of women in the media is something that is unsettling.

Pornography being the most blatant form, though not it's sole form. It's in advertising. It's in the mainstream media. It's in fashion.

I'm not going to tell you I've never seen pornography. I'm not going to tell you that the cheerleaders at the Starz game last night didn't make the game more enjoyable. I'm not going to tell you that I avert my eyes when a woman wears a shirt a size too small and a skirt that stops in the middle of her thigh. I will tell you that I do believe that it is the women's choice to engage in such activity if she so desires, and possibly this is all just a by product of our beloved capitalism. I do find it grossely disturbing that possibly these things might have terrible consequences on not so much the females in question but on our society. A girl grows up seeing the way the girls on TV act. A girl grows up seeing the way that boys act. If a girl sees women enduring the ice rink in half a shirt for the entertainment of the male dominated atmosphere, what does she think? About other women and about herself? What does a boy think about women?

I don't know the answer, but it feels like this watered down prostitution is everywhere. I even believe prostitution should be the choice of an individual rather than the decision of the government, but I also believe that women should have respect for themselves, and men for their female counterparts. I simply think that when anyone, male or female, allows themselves to be used in such a manner, and that when anyone, male or female, sees another person being used in such a manner, something happens. Again, I don't know for sure.

One question, wouldn't it be then the responsibility of said girl's parents to converse with said young girl about the images said young girl is seeing, and through this dialect come to a reasonable understanding of this issue? I do not believe someone should just stop doing something that's legal, just because of who's watching.

I'm raising 2 daughters. I don't have the clothing battles with them, and I won't have the clothing battles with them. Because modesty is EVERYTHING in my house. Perhaps if parents set more standards for their children, this wouldn't be an issue they'd be "confused" about?

Well if you don't like that idea, lets look at the Goals of COMMUNISM and what they said was needed for the USA's DESTRUCTION!

Communist Goals (1963)
Congressional Record--Appendix, pp. A34-A35
January 10, 1963

Current Communist Goals

EXTENSION OF REMARKS OF HON. A. S. HERLONG, JR. OF FLORIDA

IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES

Thursday, January 10, 1963

22. Continue discrediting American culture by degrading all forms of artistic expression. An American Communist cell was told to "eliminate all good sculpture from parks and buildings, substitute shapeless, awkward and meaningless forms."

23. Control art critics and directors of art museums. "Our plan is to promote ugliness, repulsive, meaningless art."

24. Eliminate all laws governing obscenity by calling them "censorship" and a violation of free speech and free press.

25. Break down cultural standards of morality by promoting pornography and obscenity in books, magazines, motion pictures, radio, and TV.

26. Present homosexuality, degeneracy and promiscuity as "normal, natural, healthy."

27. Infiltrate the churches and replace revealed religion with "social" religion. Discredit the Bible and emphasize the need for intellectual maturity which does not need a "religious crutch."

28. Eliminate prayer or any phase of religious expression in the schools on the ground that it violates the principle of "separation of church and state."

29. Discredit the American Constitution by calling it inadequate, old-fashioned, out of step with modern needs, a hindrance to cooperation between nations on a worldwide basis.

30. Discredit the American Founding Fathers. Present them as selfish aristocrats who had no concern for the "common man."

Food for thought. :2wave:

BTW, moved this thread to "Off topic". You can enjoy your feedom of speech, but please do so in the correct category. This has nothing to do with Political Parties.

Sorry to say it, but that's not true at all. The internet started off as ARPANET (a military project), spread to science, and then became commercialized.

History of the Internet.

Yep it was for defence, in case communications went down.
It went from the idea of helping people to hurting people.

Ponograghy has one reason it is allowed in America, for the purposeful moral decline of the nation. The power elites want "Humanistic" workers, not Citizens of a free nation.

About the plans.

Marriage shall be outlawed and there shall be no family-life as we know it. Children will be removed from their parents at an early-age and brought up by wards as state-property. Such an experiment was carried out in East Germany under Erich Honnecker when children were taken-away from parents considered by the state to be disloyal-citizens. Women will be degraded through the continued process of "women's liberation" movements. Free sex shall be mandatory.
Failure to comply at least once by the age of 20 shall be punishable by severe reprisals against her person. Self-abortion shall be taught and practised after two children are born to a woman; such records shall be contained in the personal-file of each woman in the One World Government's regional-computers. If a woman falls pregnant after she has previously given birth to two children, she shall be forcibly removed to an abortion-clinic for such an abortion and sterilisation to be carried out.
Pornography shall be promoted and be compulsory showing in every theatre of cinema, including homosexual and lesbian pornography. The use of "recreational" drugs shall be compulsory, with each person allotted drug-quotas which can be purchased at One World Government stores throughout the world. Mind-control-drugs will be expanded and usage become compulsory. Such mind-control-drugs shall be given in food and/or water-supplies without the knowledge and/or consent of the people. Drug-bars shall be set up, run by One World Government employees, where the slave-class shall be able to spend their free-time. In this manner the non-elite masses will be reduced to the level and behaviour of controlled animals with no will of their own and easily regimented and controlled.

Oh brother, Robodoon. Just don't watch it for God's sake (pun intended ). Maybe it doesn't serve a purpose for you. To me, as long as consenting adults are involved in the movie, it is legal. No one is forced to watch it.

This, of course, assumes there is a God, and if he is as powerful as people allege he is, why wouldn't he have prevented such vulgarity?

Look, if God didn't want us engaging in sex, he wouldn't have made it feel good.

Well it was illegal, but as the communist stated, it was needed for our destruction

Sex is not speech ;)

My point was, capitolism (porn) is what has grown the internet to what it is today - once it went commercial - Thanks American Airlines!

Where it not for the porn industry, we would prob still be in the 1990's technologically (is that a word?) speaking. There would be much less interest and the "information" age would have taken much much longer to get here.

Most people would be like our grandparents - will get there eventually or whats this email thing all about?

Sex sells - just watch a few commercials on TV prime time.

ASCII porn - woot!!

Sex should not be used in advertizing, its unfair to the people especially men.
Its like fishing with blood, and thats illegal. We care more about the fish then we do people.

In a Nation where the States are guaranteed a Republican form of government, the Nation cannot make porn illegal without violating the rights of a State that may want porn legal.
Porn was illegal

Many people realize something is seriously wrong in America, but don't understand what is taking place.

Fifty years ago premarital sex was considered immoral. Premarital sex is accepted today.
Fifty years ago distribution of pornography was illegal. Pornography is available on the Internet today.
Fifty years ago homosexuality was illegal. Homosexuality is legal today.
Fifty years ago the United States was a Christian nation. America is not a Christian nation today.
Fifty years ago prayer and mention of God were legal in public schools. Reference to God is prohibited in public schools today.
Fifty years ago everyone knew the United States was a republic. The U.S. is a democracy today.
Fifty years ago witches and mediums were considered evil. Witchcraft and mediums are accepted today.
Fifty years ago there was relatively little crime in the U.S. Over two million people are incarcerated in the United States today.
Fifty years ago American courts dispensed justice. The American court system is corrupt today.
Fifty years ago the United States was a sovereign nation. That is no longer true. The U.S. has ceded its sovereignty to the UN and other international organizations.

And we don't have states rights today, we are suppose to...but.

The problem we have is that some “liberals” have a view of “democracy” that believes it has a right to shove pornography down the throats of States that do not want their simpleton “adults” being exposed to an enticement to lust. Once you adopt such a philosophical view of “States Rights,” where the State has no right to forbid the sale and distribution of pornography within its borders it naturally grows into pressure of a “right” to spread your views to others.

It is no wonder they called us the “Great Satan” when we had a president that lusted in Playboy:

"I've looked on a lot of women with lust. I've committed adultery in my heart many times. This is something that God recognizes I will do--and I have done it--and God forgives me for it." (Jimmy Carter, prior to the 444 days of glory in Iran)

“My words fly up, my thoughts remain below: Words without thoughts never to heaven go.” (Hamlet Act III, Scene III)

Maybe that is why I saw huge mobs of Iranian women that WANTED to cover their ornaments from such huge “liberal” teeth.

Free Speech was so we could protect our Freedom and Nation, not so sickos can get off, and not to mention how many people's lives are destroyed by the industry.

I think God will punish us for what we have allowed.

The porn industry makes $6,000,000,000.00 + a year and nobody looks at the stuff,RRRRRRRIIIIIGGGGGHHHHHHHTTTTTTT:roll:.

If my daughter wants to do porn, that is entirely up to her, although she won't be raised like that. There is a certain way to raise a kid, guiding them to the route you feel is correct. Some people know how to do it, and others don't. If you feel porn is wrong, then don't watch it, I would just like to see you stop a bunch of people from watching it. Don't player hate, cause you ain't like the results from your debate (corny I know). Porn is much more supported than you would like it, dear. So I will assume that you would like to stick to the morals of that time, instead of moving forward? Granted Porno isnt something as glamorous as winning a war or something, but it is part of peoples life styles. Porno has done wonders for married couples seeking some spice in there lives, rekindling flames.. etc. I know that some people also blame porno for ruining a marriage, but thats because there marriage must have been in trouble in the first place. Like I said before, if you don't like porno, dont watch it, teach your kids the better.

I'm just curious why someone posts quotes on liberty then calls for banning stuff. Those multiple personalities messing with his head again?

The rockefellers have worked for the last 80 years to remove that fact from the minds of Americans.

Damn, your old then, and you still havent listened to these people... get with the program and the times!!!!!

Who said anything about sin? How is pornography like sin? If you feel that it is against you, then fine, you shouldnt try to impose your views on other people, especially since majority supports porno.

Ok put the bong down. Oh yeah women love when their men look at other naked women  "WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING AT,,,do you think she is pretty?and now the fit. WHAAAA, why aren't I enough for you...why do you have to look at other women etc.

... almost forgot that we weren't in the basement. O.k. Im not precise on how my mother acted when my father watched the stuff, but she never acted like that. First of all, I dont do the bong stuff, second, have you ever looked at porn with your significant other? I was talking about when couples watch porno together. Maybe you didn't need to, but it does help couples everywhere, when used as a tool.

SEX is not marriage, its only a benifit of it.

Its not a benefit, its a special bind that people share. You don't have to be married to have sex, people like sharing these feelings with each other, they want that bond, even if its for one night.

you can't get away from it into days society of flesh, even here on this forum they are posting close to naked women in the ads

Well, then I would suggest that you learn to deal with it. As much flesh thrown around, why would your 'child' even be on a debate forum, talking about politics? Ads such as these are there, because of the age group of the majority. I have yet to see a 10 year old post anything on the site. Maybe you should become Amish, you might have better luck. Just understand this, porn isnt for everyone and it does help couples express themselve sexually. It should and will remain Legal.

To an extent, I agree. This is an issue of character and the effect of that character on society at large.

What kind of person participates in pornography? I don't mean that question in a rhetorical condescending manner. I mean really: What are the characteristics, the emotional make-up, the ethical/moral standards, of a porn star?

I'm sick of breasts coming at me on every network channel, so I choose not to watch it. I would rather not have to police what my kids watch either, but Reaganomics took care of regulating such things in favor of the "free" market system dominated by corporate media profits. Sex sells... BIG.
There is no "right" to spread any views to others, and there shouldn't be a "right" to remove the freedoms of some because of the beliefs of another. There are those in every state that don't want porn, but there are also those in every state that do.

This was before Reagan was Governor:

“The Court has explicitly refused to tolerate a result whereby ‘the constitutional limits of free expression in the Nation would vary with state lines…” (Democrat Brennan) http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/shows/porn/prosecuting/overview.html

That principle of States Rights where the hypothetical and very possible Islamic State has no right to prohibit a pornographic cartoon even within its own borders, can only mean we better not allow the magical “they” to get a critical mass in any State, but wait, not even a State can establish its cultural values now:

“Again we say that when someone feels that he is unjustly treated, and no one is repulsing or stopping the injustice inflicted on him, he personally seeks ways and means for lifting that justice. Of course, not everyone is capable of finding the best way for lifting the injustice inflicted on him. People resort to what they think is the best way according to their own ideas, and they are not all capable of reaching out for what is beyond what is available to arrive to the best idea or means.
To find the best way, after having found their way to God and His rights, those who are inflicted by injustice need not to be isolated from their natural milieu, or be ignored deliberately, or as a result of mis-appreciation, by the officials in this milieu. They should, rather, be reassured and helped to save themselves, and their surroundings.” (Saddam Hussein Shabban 13, 1422 H. October 29, 2001.)

BOOM! And the “liberals” that can’t tell us who Saddam’s magical “they” are will never see them coming. Nonviolent resistance is futile!

“Liberals” that don’t like the free market system should demand social and economic JUSTICE! If a Nation wants take away the rights of a prudish FREE State to choose to prohibit the manufacture, sale, and public distribution of pornography within its State lines, then demand from each according to their whoring ability, to each according to their lustful needs.

Free porn for everyone! Maybe we can disgust the magical “they” into not coming.
