I am right
Sources? Otherwise, more made up BS.

Or you can articulate something that someone else has posted and try to defend your argument.

But I'm pretty sure you dont understand it well enough to do so. Soooooo, your post is full of more made up BS. 😃

Had to go back 10 posts to find the substance you guys were arguing over to find

Their debates over potential social harm were so hotly contested that the National Organization for Women (NOW) stepped into the fray. Siding with anti-pornography feminists, the organization declared in 1980 that sadomasochism and pornography constituted violence, not sex, and were inherently dangerous.

The feminism of the 70s and 80s was very anti porn.

And after 30-40 years, we've noted that's it's developed differently for women.

Unlike some viewpoints and organizations that remain entrenched in the past and refuse to move on, others evolve and move forward. The thread it full of counter-arguments.

Oh, Im fully aware feminist now view pornography as some kind of empowerment of women. The other poster was clearly referring to "old school feminist" and this is what you so vehemnetly deny 10 times.

I wouldnt encourage them to work at McDonalds or Starbucks or the movie theater snack bar either but anything can be a starting point. Not sure why you didnt address where I specifically stated how it can be. I believe in choice.
Why wouldn't you encourage a young person to start work at McDs or Starbucks? What's wrong with that? Many people start out working at places like that. McDs was my 1st job. You think people are going to get a job as an office executive with no experience or education?

Also, if you have a young female associate (daughter or w/e) and she said she needed money and she has two options, McDs or Porn, you think they are equivlanent? You'd be like, "Hey...either one is an option. If you do the porn let me watch you do your work." Please.

Your statement "old school feminist agrees with me" is accurate. Got bored with you two going back and forth 10 times so I provided some evidence you had not.
They don’t agree with me, or school feminists were bad

DId you miss the 'starting point' comment? That means it's fine for young people. The initial sentence referred to general work and yeah, I wouldnt really recommend those as a career. Same for porn (in both cases). What's wrong with porn?

Re: equivalence? Well I'd bet she could make more in porn so it really depends on her career path, need for $, preferences in tasks, etc.

I dont understand your sentence about 'letting you watch tho.' Please explain?

Sounds like it's degrading to women, if they are "slut shamed."
Porn is empowering for women who see it as a rebellion against slut-shaming and patriarchy. They're doing what they want, despite the slut-shaming. They're not letting it bother them.

Submitting to bring objectified by men seems like it would be capitulation to a patriarchy

They're doing what men want them to do, it isn't men that "slut shame."

Not if they want to do it.

As long as they want to do it themselves, then it can be empowering. And WTF? Of course men slut-shame. Women do too.

So if you convince them they want to be enslaved enslavement would be empowering.

Men shame women for being easy? On what planet? They just don't marry them when they're easy, they don't need to, that's what easy means.

Men are cheering for sluts who do you think watches 90% of pornography?

I am convinced this industry has some serious labor exploitation issues. It is probably underregulated and as far as I know there is no serious union presence yet in the porn industry as there is in other forms of the movie business and other entertainment. The International Entertainment Adult Union (the umbrella union) is a fairly new union ( 2016) which has only attracted a small slice of the total work force in the industry, and of course its had its share of politics and discord with its subsidiary for the actors, the Adult Performers Actors Guild - APAG, so much so that the IEAU terminated it ( its no longer registered with the Labor Board) invited its members to rejoin the mothership IEAU, and sued it's board for all of its remaining assets in march of last year.

Clearly this union has had some bad press due to this civil war, and the workers are leery that they are going to get the same quality of representation for their dollar as SAG provides the rest of the movie industry.

Until they get unionized, its going to be up to them to fight their own battles within the industry. But this work force is not the only exploited work force, and I have not seen actual evidence that they worse off or more unhappy than say, farm workers, or nurses aides, or burger flippers who also are low income, unorganized and marginalized.

You could say that about literally any action.
Why are we assuming that porn stars are being "convinced" to make porn?

Men shame women for being easy? On what planet?

The same men who slut-shame also watch porn. Yes, it's hypocrisy. Sexists are usually hypocrites.

Porn produced by/for women is vastly different than toxic male porn. Most male targeted porn is about power, not sex.

Cheers! LOL, it's men that do the slut-shaming, mostly for control I'd say. It's certainly a double standard...hypocrisy. And it's men that mostly pay for porn...and strip clubs...and hookers.

Er...who's empowered here? Who's paying and who's choosing to make $$?
