Pope resigns

Meh  Myself I think many are thinking he may switch back over to the Dark Side of the Force.

Disclaimer: (I mean no disrespect to our Catholic friends here) eace

Evidence? Thomas Aquinas believed in a sperical earth, and he was basically cannon when it came to catholic philosophy.

Infact most people knew the earth was a sphere (post christianity) certainly in the 8th century, before that it was contested by various people, but where and when did the Church murder people who thought that the earth was round?

I'm calling bull****.

I hear they might be considering an American pope. Cardinal Sean O'Malley of Boston is apparently just one under consideration. There's another one from NY too.

NY is Dolan, who is a complete tool.

He would do more harm than good.

The RCC hated science passionately in the old days.

Anything that was contrary to their view of the world was labeled as heresy.

Sadly, some of that attitude has not changed.

Don't really know anything about either one of them, as I'm not a Catholic. Just giving the news.

No problem, Chris!

My Aunt has been a Sister of Charity in upstate NY for 55 years.

She knows Dolan, and has a very, very low opinion of him.

Seems that his ego is extremely large, and his people skills are severely lacking.

Not good attributes for solid leadership.

That's not what I was asking ...

Thanks for the info. Hopefully they don't pick him. I've seen Cardinal O'Malley on TV a bunch of times (because I live in the Boston area). He seems friendly enough.
