Polls-Americans are sick of the war on terror

The US has been producing international security, which as a public good was the bedrock of economic success for lots of countries like Germany, Japan or China who have prospered by but not paid for it. Those countries are business competitors and wealthy. The USA cannot pay for policing alone. The sentiment you mention is due to this imbalance ie the impacts on US competitiveness, treasure and the cost in blood.

That does not mean that withdrawal without replacement will work. It only means we need a new and better approach.

The Allies were the villains IN WWII, were they?
So you're going to take things out of context and associate meanings to them which weren't intended, are you?

I'm more tired of our government than I am tired of wars on terror, drugs, whatever.

Aren't those all links in the same chain? Acts in the same play? Innings in the same game?

That's good because this regime only wages war on rich people, white people, and men. Man made disasters have yet to be waged war upon.

Don't worry, as we speak Obama is saddling up with the EPA to ride in and "save" the World!!!

Apparently you thought the WoT would end with Al Qaeda and other terrorist groups admitting defeat?

Typically I cringe at men wearing spandex, but I'd prefer to see him in spandex than those jeans.

Some apparently did. Recall General Motors is alive and Osama bin Laden is dead"?

And now GM is facing federal investigations and Al Qaeda remains strong.

But it served its purpose. 'You can fool some of the people all of the time', and that's often all that's necessary to gain power.

I had a feeling you'd back off.
Answering your question is not backing off. Read the thread and your question will be answered. You can start with the post of mine you originally quoted.

After the September 11 attacks, commercial airline pilots were allowed to carry guns if they completed a federal-safety program. No longer would unarmed pilots be defenseless as remorseless hijackers seized control of aircraft and rammed them into buildings.

Now President Obama is quietly ending the federal firearms program, risking public safety on airlines in the name of an anti-gun ideology.
The Obama administration this past week diverted some $2 million from the pilot training program to hire more supervisory staff, who will engage in field inspections of pilots.

This looks like completely unnecessary harassment of the pilots. The 12,000 Federal Flight Deck Officers, the pilots who have been approved to carry guns, are reported to have the best behavior of any federal law enforcement agency. There are no cases where any of them has improperly brandished or used a gun. There are just a few cases where officers have improperly used their IDs.

I agree completely, but I do remember one unfortunate fellow who accidentally fired his weapon while attempting to put it back in the box or some crazy thing. He was attempting to comply with some silly rule, and accidentally fired the weapon. Nobody hurt, but the pressure vessel was pierced I think.
