Anti-immigration-reform Republicans held a “March for Jobs” in Washington, D.C. on Monday in an effort to stop comprehensive immigration reform. But a new Gallup pollsuggests that the only voters who identify with Republicans over Democrats on immigration are non-Hispanic whites age 50 and older.
But even older white voters only identify more with Republicans’ views by a mere 7 percent. If this trend holds, the theory that Republicans can win the White House by simply pursuing “missing white voters” who stayed home in 2012 makes no sense — at least for the 2016 presidential election.

“By 2016, non-whites should make up around 30 percent of the overall electorate, and the Democratic candidate would be able to win the national popular vote while losing the white vote by 24 percentage points,” Ruy Teixeira and Alan Abramowitz write in a new memo for The Democratic Strategist.

Yea this says a lot about how peoples views are evolving and it seems a lot of the GOP's positions on immigration need to evolve or they are going to be left in the dustbin..

The GOP just like democrats have two different views on Amnesty. The side that is for workers, for securing our borders and against illegal immigration is against amnesty regardless if they are democrat, republican or whatever. While the pro-illegal scum who are against the poor working man, who support globalism and who support open borders are for amnesty regardless if they are democrat, republican or what ever..

Polls are all in how the question is asked. If you asked people do they p0refer border security first,it's a landslide in that direction. Most people don't study the issue much, which makes them putty in the hands of people like Obama who really know how to use the low info voter.

All US CITIZENS that want better pay, or want a job, identify with ZERO immigration and deporting them all.

Yep those teenagers and 20 somethings who can't find work are rooting for more illegal invader Mayans to come here.........and work for cheap......geeeeez

Funny you say that because, when given the choice between halting the flow of illegal immigrants into the U.S., or developing a plan to deal with immigrants who are currently in the U.S. illegally, they choose the latter 53% to 41%

When asked "Do you think the government should focus more on protecting the border and stopping the flow of illegal immigrants in the United States or more on helping illegal immigrants who are already here become part of American society?" they choose the former, but only by 4%
