Yes - of course - right on the money!!!!! :doh Right wingers are true patriots who want the Constitution followed and everybody else are just godless commies who want to wipe their backside with the document. Thank you for honest commentary.
Perhaps old-time conservatives believed in those things but not modern conservatives. During the Bush Administration, modern conservatives believed that deficits don't matter; they didn't believe in limited foreign intervention nor limiting the government's encroachment upon individual liberties and freedom. Back then, they were fine with Bush setting up "Free Speech Zones" a mile away -- roping off of protestors where nobody would hear them. They didn't care that Bush was tapping Americans' phones. It's all to keep us safe, they said.
I don't know what you are thinking by saying that all of a sudden deficits matter. I don't know any conservatives that were happy with Bush's spending. And you fail to acknowledge that Obama's spending is on an entirely different level, and absolutely mind boggling one.Now that there is a Democrat (and a black one at that) in the White House, all of a sudden deficits matter again; preserving personal rights is on their lips as well as liberty.
You are confusing Republicans and Conseratives, not the same thing.

And what is the point about him being (half) black? Are you making the absurd suggestion that if Obama was more white, conservatives would support his destructive policies?
Might have more impact if the graphs were the same scale.Really? Is that what you think about Obama's spending? That just means you have no idea. This is Bush's spending:
This is Obama's spending:
Regardless of scale, which I don't control, spending increased 70% under Bush and 8-9% under Obama. So much for conservatives screaming about Obama going on a spending spree.Might have more impact if the graphs were the same scale.

Impeachment is a political decision to solve a political problem.
Well, Bush was the most conservative president in 100 years. It's funny how conservatives now declare that Bush really wasn't a conservative when they were silent at the time.Hey, don't just post a couple of graphs, make your point. If you are going to say I have no idea, you better come up with a little more than a couple of misleading graphs. I mean, what are you saying, Bush spent more than Obama? How much did Bush add to the deficit?
And remember, I am no fan of Bush'e spending, I am a conservative.
It is an indication of the increasing polarization of the electorate and the lengths to which some will go just to carry out their ideological or political agenda regardless of what the Constitution says.
Well, Bush was the most conservative president in 100 years.
Lol? LOL! That has to be the funnies defense of Obama ever made. Hands down.
In all fairness, roughly 30% is always the percentage of hardline partisans, right and left.
Well, are tax-cuts a conservative policy? Of course they are and Bush forced the biggest tax-cut in decades, perhaps ever. But what did those tax-cuts do? They transformed a $230 billion surplus he inherited from the "liberal" Bill Clinton into a $440 billion deficit in three years -- by far the worst fiscal record in American history.Amazing to me how people view things. I have always thought of Bush as being to the left of Clinton. But I'm not a partisan so I my view doesn't get so clouded by politics.
Yeah, Bush was a conservative, that's a good one. I guess Clinton and Obama are too, LOL!Well, Bush was the most conservative president in 100 years. It's funny how conservatives now declare that Bush really wasn't a conservative when they were silent at the time.

The disconnect isn't that Bush wasn't a conservative, it's that when in power, conservatives want to use the power of government their way. Thus, instead of championing personal freedom, he used government to be intrusive in the name of anti-terrorism. He asserted that we were fighting for freedom in Iraq but labeled anyone who questions his course of action, aiding the terrorists and not patriotic.
When the GOP was in charge of all three law-making bodies, they engaged in the highest amount of earmark and pork barrel projects in history.
What I am saying is that modern conservatives talk-the-talk but when in power they don't walk-the-walk.

Tax cuts don't cause deficits, over spending causes deficits.
Conservatives were not in power, it was GOP establishment, go along to get along Republicans.
It's absurd to say that tax-cuts don't cause deficits. If not, then let's cut taxes to zero and see if no deficit appears.
The crop of Republicans that have been in power over the last 20 years have been the most conservative in history. How conservative enough do they need to be show their colors, go back to burning witches?
Well you see, you need to correctly place the midline on that graph, up around 1.0, rather than the 0.0 mark it's at.It's absurd to say that tax-cuts don't cause deficits. If not, then let's cut taxes to zero and see if no deficit appears. In Kansas, they thought as you and the radical conservatives radically cut taxes. What happened? State revenue dropped by 1/3.

Bush got the recovery going? The economy was booming during Clinton. There was a short recession in 2001. Job gains during Bush were 3 million compared to 22 millin under Clinton and 10.5 million under Carter.Cut taxes to zero? What conservative is proposing that? I guess you want taxes at 100% then. We had two Presidents who didn't care what the state of the economy was, they were going to spend no matter what. At least Bush got a recovery going, Obama doesn't care about the economy, and has run deficits into the $Trillions.
Then, after his Trillion dollar deficits, he tells his idiot followers that he's made huge cuts in the deficit. Oh, really? Thanks so much! It's like a thief stealing your money and giving some back and expecting you to thank him for what he's done.
Boy, this guy sure depends on the low information crowd.
