Poll: Confidence in Barack Obama hits low

By ANDY BARR | 7/13/10 7:50 AM EDT

Obama gets a 50 percent approval rating in the poll. But 43 percent approve of the president’s handling of the economy while 44 approve of his approach to regulating the financial industry while 40 percent said the same of his management of the federal budget deficit.

Obama only got a higher than 50 percent approval rating for handling of his duties as commander in chief, for which 55 percent give him good marks.

The poll was conducted July 7-11 and has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.5 percentage points.

To be replaced by whom? According to your link both Democrats and Republicans (the latter in higher numbers) have also lost the American public's confidence. It seems to me this is not about Obama, but about everyone in Washington.

Approval ratings mean very little in the end. Even your boy Reagan once went down to 35% Approval rating (1/28/83) at one point...

Aren't we just an eager beaver Navy? :)

Read the headline.....

What did Bush finish his 8 years with, something like 20%?

This is meaningless, as is any other approval poll.

I can't go there!!!!

Anybody got Cliff Notes?

Read the article............ all of it................... if you can ...............

How will he soon be gone if his approval rating is around 50%? That makes no sense.

Navy has a tendency to start threads without reading past the headline...nothing new here.

From the link:

While Obama’s numbers have dipped, he’s still in better shape than either Democrats or Republicans on Capitol Hill.

Sixty-eight percent said they do not have confidence Democrats while 72 percent said the same of Republicans.
