A majority of Americans disapprove of the FBI's recommendation not to charge Hillary Clinton with a crime over her handling of email while secretary of state, and a similar number in a new ABC News/Washington Post poll say the issue leaves them worried about how she would handle her responsibilities as president if elected.

Most also say the email controversy won't affect their vote in the presidential election. But 28 percent say it leaves them less likely to support her, versus 10 percent who say it makes them more likely to do so.

This just in, the views of 56% of Americans are easily molded by political propaganda like balls of wet clay.

So people want Rule of Law, but are trapped by the awful choices of this election into being unable to vote for it.

Great. SMOD2016.

They want the rule of law? Funny how that was not present when Bush and his cronies were breaking laws left right and centre... or even with Trump, a man who is a serial defaulter and does not pay his bills. Or is the rule of law only for Democrats but not for Republicans?

When will the rule of law put Rove and co in jail for having a private RNC email server under the Bush White house? When will Cheney and co go to jail for outing an intelligence agent? Oh let me guess you are going to argue that it never happened and bla bla bla..

All this shows is how hypocritical the American right is .. one law for them and the "rule of law" for everyone else.

Yep, if they had just charged like they should have, this election would be a lot simpler.

Rule of Law is for All, or it doesn't exist.

When will the rule of law put Rove and co in jail for having a private RNC email server under the Bush White house?

Never, because that is not a crime.

When will Cheney and co go to jail for outing an intelligence agent?

Never because he did not do so. Richard Armitage (at State) did. I would have been fine with him being brought up, and he should have been.

Oh let me guess you are going to argue that it never happened and bla bla bla..

Richard Lee Armitage (born April 26, 1945) is an American former naval officer and a Republican politician who was appointed the 13th United States Deputy Secretary of State at the State Department, serving from 2001 to 2005 under George W. Bush. He has acknowledged that he publicly released the classified information that Valerie Plame Wilson was a secret agent for the CIA, triggering the Plame affair, although he has said it was inadvertent.

You know what would happen if Hillary were charged and had to drop out? You'd have President Bernie Sanders.

Y'all just don't get it - Trump wouldn't win, period. Looking at the fact that Bernie's a heck of a lot more to the left than Hillary is, conservatives oughta be grateful that the FBI director decided not to recommend charges. Come to think of it, that one factor might have been the reason he decided as he did.

Is that why Bernie Sanders is about to endorse her? He was waiting for the outcome of the FBI investigation?

As soon as he does that, saying what a great person she is and a worthy opponent and all that other horse puckey....... that is when the FBI ought to drop the other shoe. ;)

Doesn't matter. If she weren't able to run for any reason - whether indictment, illness, death, whatever - Sanders would take up the baton, and we'd have a President Sanders.

Wake up and smell the cafe latte breve with three extra shots, guy - Trump ain't gonna win, period. If anything, FBI Director Comey did the right wing a favor by not recommending charges for Hillary.

And thank you for proving my point on there is one law for Republicorupts and one for Democrats.

 oh look. Someone else who has their narrative, and can't be bothered with data.

The Right Wing doesn't have a presidential candidate this season.

That being said, Hillary was never going to be indicted. Democrat leadership believed (not without reason) that Sanders would be far more likely to lose, and were not about to risk/give up the White House over a silly little thing like Rule of Law.

I don't drink any of that stuff...

I don't think Bernie would win against Trump anyway.

Really? The Right Wing doesn't have a presidential candidate this season? Then how the heck is it that the GOP - the party of the Right - cast more votes for Trump in the presidential primary than for any other candidate in GOP primary history? Hm?

You can deny, deny, deny all you want...but the FACTS say something else entirely.

You should! More money in Starbucks' coffers means more money for those who invest in Starbucks...which means more money for the DNC and Democratic candidates.

But if you really want to stick with the Trump Brand grape Kool-Aid, that's up to you.

Nope. Heck, not even the Libertarian Party gave us someone

Because it turns out that a plurality of the GOP is willing to vote for a big government liberal authoritarian so long as he told them everyone else was stupid, and they could use him to punish the party

 the fact is that Trump is no right-wing conservative. Those people are the ones either A) grumpily deciding he's not as horrific as Hillary or B) #NeverTrump

You mean the data that states, you blame Hillary for setting up an off the book email server, and yet not Bush? Double standard much?

Well actual statistical evidence would disagree with you. Poll after poll done finds Trump getting his ass kicked when facing Bernie... Worse so than Clinton v Trump.

I blame Hillary for breaking federal law regarding the handling of classified information. Having a private server isn't a felony. What Hillary did, is.

So your point is someone got away with it before so Hillary should now? or is this just deflection?

The fact is that more right-wing conservatives voted for Trump for their party's nominee than any other presidential candidate in GOP primaries in history.

You can claim all you want that conservatives didn't vote for him...but they did. MILLIONS of them. And doggone near every one of them would claim that they're every bit as conservative as you are. Seems that those who claim that no "real" conservative would vote for Trump are very much in the minority among those who claim to be strongly conservative...especially given the well-known fact that those who vote in primaries are normally the most politically active, those who most closely represent the political base.

Yep! Y'all nominated him, y'all own him...and y'all own everything he says and stands for!

The poll was done July 6 -7th.

"This ABC News/Washington Post poll was conducted by landline and cell phone from July 6-7, 2016, among a random national sample of 519 adults."

Comey's testimony was on July 7th.

We learned much more information then. So, for people following it, his testimony might have changed their mind, but it was still fresh, ongoing and not that many people could have had a chance to hear the full testimony live

For those not following it closely - all they got was a snip here and there, if at all.

A full year of negative drumbeats still echo.
