Politico: "Democratic candidate’s ‘abhorrent’ texts threaten to shake up bellwether Virginia elections"

Shhh....this is about hypothetical children the right cares more about. Real life trauma, children starving, parents taken away.

Shucks, that's just woke empathy and would be way too consistent a principle for MAGA that rather their imaginary fears are more a risk to America.

America being Trump himself of course

This is 10% for the Big Guy energy.

You highlight a phrase or word with no context.

Expecting the rest of us to eat the hot garbage takes, speculation of conspiracy, and 100% damnable if it comes to the Left.

When even damning evidence in court against those in their camp convicts, they cry "wake me up when they lose their appeal".

I'm apolitical. I just like facts. Weird. Show me the original in all it's ugly glory. Biden is probably corrupt as sin, but wake me the **** up when more than half an email points to some smoking gun.

**** mate, just give up. The magic trick is so thoroughly obvious it's sad you think we still have any grain of salt to support anything MAGA says. It's a deliberate propaganda tool to enforce beliefs without undeniable evidence and this is it to a T.

According to the article, he “mused about violence”. How many times has Donald Trump incited violence? Just one example, during the 2016 campaign, Trump remarked that "Second Amendment people" could prevent Hillary Clinton from choosing Supreme Court justices, which can be interpreted as an implicit threat.

In 2024, Trump made a comment about Liz Cheney, saying, "Let's put her with a rifle standing there with nine barrels shooting at her, okay?”

Come on, if those aren’t implicit threats, nothing is. And those threats didn’t disturb you one bit at all, did they? Did you start a thread about those threats?

Trump always gets a pass, but you can trace this spike in political violence, spoken or otherwise, to Trump's rise to power.

I’ve stated clearly that all political violence is unacceptable no matter who does it. Not sure what that’s so hard for so many people in this thread to agree with…

Plus, if one truly believes that it’s wrong for a Republican to make threats of violence, why wouldn’t they also be against violence from non-Republicans? After all, the main topic is that violence and violent threats are bad, correct?

Yikes...

These texts I can read dont say

He said he wants to kill that person
He wants their children to die

Lol, she literally said: "You were talking about hopping (sic) that jennifer Gilbert's children would die"

And he responded: "Yes"

You're not fooling anyone with this "I'm apolitical" schtick. You're blatantly lying here. Gaslighting like this is straight out of the extremist leftist playbook, and it doesn't work anymore, which is why you guys are so desperately flailing around and committing more acts of violence than the far-right at this point.

That's not what you said.

But let's assume it was. How do you feel about Trump pardoning the J6ers?

Stop playing dumb and pretending like I wasn't obviously talking about political violence given that this is a thread about.....you guessed it....political violence!

Democrats will still vote for this person. That's all that needs to be said.

You are hilariously hypocritical.

You ca'nt condemn the President of the United States for promoting violence and killing thousands of kids, but you want us to condemn a private text.

You guys are too much.

You would be laughed out of court for this, rightfully so. But I really enjoyed getting you to verbally diarrhea rage buzz words because I am getting under your skin being right. You can call me saying a fact: You do not have the original text to make a concrete claim he said what you interpreted based on this snippet is "gaslighting" . I could pull the definition up for you but I don't trust you will interpret the words right there either. You focus on the Yes that could mean more than what you want it to, and ignore his explaining his position is entirely rational.

Is claiming you can shoot someone on 5th Avenue and not losing any support for doing so a threat to everyone on 5th Avenue at even given time?

Not even a damnable smoking gun private text. A snippet of one, to take to mean exactly the thing they need it to pump and dump conspiracies as if the internet isn't a treasure trove of MAGA walking in a field of rakes on the ground, hitting themselves, blaming a liberal for leaving it there.

It's all performative nonsense from the type of people that will weaponize therapy speak without internalizing it.

Gross. He should step down, if those are his words.

It's wild that he sent that to a *Republican* colleague, and then kept right on going after she asked him to stop. He really thought he was on a roll.

How did his own vetting research team, which is supposed to investigate potential skeletons in his closet as his oppo research team would, miss this? I'm guessing Jones just somehow 'forgot' to tell them.

A number of Republican senators privately said they didn't vote to convict Trump on his second impeachment because they feared for their and their family's lives.

I don't buy that across the board. There might be some who feared it, but I think the bigger reason is they feared being primaried and blackballed by the oligarchical political ecosystem that has taken over the party.
