Political Media Blackout and Bias in 2016 Presidential Nominations

Interesting article that attempts to quantify and illustrate media bias in the 2016 presidential nominations:

2016 Presidential Media Blackouts: Not Just Conspiracy – Decision Data

Interesting yet shallow. There are plenty of other factors that can go into those numbers than just the 3 variables they have chosen. Sanders was relatively unknown and Clinton is one of the most known people, that's a big factor why Sanders has more Google searches. Also Clinton was in the news a lot for the e-mail scandal so there are a bunch of articles that wouldn't have been written otherwise.

Ultimately, searches aside, it's doubtful whether the extreme disparity between Clinton and Bernie in terms of air time/media mentions can be explained away by his initial novelty, and the e-mail scandal, especially post-Malley.

It goes deeper than that, Clinton's supporters are older and more likely to consume MSM as thier main source of news and Bernie has a huge advantage with younger people who are more likely to do Google searches and distrust the MSM.

I'm talking simply about media coverage and mentions; ignoring searches entirely, Clinton enjoys coverage in vast disproportion to polling, which is their other observation. It is rather doubtful this discrepancy can be entirely attributed to the e-mail scandal.

I don't think House of Clintons on Netflix is helping Hillary though.

No, but she will do well with those that think Trump is XXXX.

I think Trump is XXXX, but I'd vote for a rented mule before I would Hillary.
