How would you feel about me creating a scatter of the members on the forum based on your political compass score. A large chunk of the members on this board keep their "lean" private, including myself. My guess is they either a) don't feel the options there properly encompass all potential beliefs, b) don't want to label themselves, or c) would rather people agree/disagree with them because of their idea's not their "lean".

This chart would alleviate the first two concerns, but probably not the third.

So how many of you would be interested in this and would be willing to put your x,y coordinates up after completing the compass?

Looks like this is a go. Just post it in here and after I get about 20 or so I'll throw it in a spreadsheet and start another thread somewhere (suggestions as to where would be welcomed)

There's mine. One of the few capitalists left in the world :(

I'm a capitalist. Just not a laissez-faire one. There's two things the economy needs to be concerned with. Big Government and Big Corporations. (for the same reasons)

I'd have to say I agree with you there to a point. I am firmly against any kind of big government, and also against any kind of company holding a monopoly on goods and services. Competition is what drives success at every level(even biological). Take that away, and you end up with powerful people, easily corrupted.

Hmm, I'm not too sure how accurate this test is. I still consider myself a centrist/moderate who leans heavily libertarian, but I don't see myself leaning to the left at all.

I've had various scores but the one I took just now is:

Economic Left/Right: -7.75
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -7.13

Economic Left/Right: -3.75
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: 0.21

I still believe that the Moral Politics test is more useful.

I'll tidy it up and make it bigger once we get more people, but this is what we have so far.

And I suppose I'll put this up here just in case someone else wants to try their hand at making it look a little nicer. I use openoffice at home so I'm not too great with the excel graphing functions
