California police sounded the alarm over drug traffickers using rainbow and other candy coloring in fentanyl on Saturday.

The Monterey Police Department posted an image of a small bag of candy-colored fentanyl, saying that just a single-use can be deadly for adults and even children. Just two milligrams of fentanyl is considered to be a potentially lethal dose.

“Sadly we are now seeing fentanyl in rainbow/candy coloring. We encourage parents to speak with their children about the dangers of this deadly drug. Just one use can be fatal,” the police department wrote.

This is similar to the plastic packets that laundry detergent comes in. Kids can't pass them up.

The fentanyl crisis is easy to fix. 1. Stop the free travel across the border. 2. Stop takiing drugs. The two of those should make a huge dent in the fentanyl problem.

Decriminalization and abolishing the DEA would fix it even more.

The police like to sound these alarms in order to make their drug investigation teams seem relevant. How much rainbow coloured fentanyl are they actually finding? Is it alarmingly high numbers? They never reveal this data. They just make pronouncements to make it seem like they are doing something to stop drugs. In reality, they are ineffective.

If they want to stop the overdose rate, they should decriminalize small possession and put all those law enforcement dollars into harm reduction, recovery, and supervised use sites. Portugal did it and their drug use rate plummeted.

But law enforcement is $$$ and nobody wants to trim the fat.

So, Americans that own property in Mexico would no longer be able to drive or fly across the border to access their properties?

Such an idiotic post. People aren't going to stop taking drugs, people need to be treated for the drugs they take, and you educate the rest, but you will never ever stop them.

Your wealth of ignorance continues to astound me....
