Why is that that everyone keeps starting threads that seem to be focused on "This is the thing that will end Clinton/Trump's campaign for President?" Are people really so naive that they don't know that regardless of some comment someone made, that are going to vote for who they have already decided to vote for. If you held the election this month, you would end up with the same end result as if we waited until November. For the overwhelming majority of voters in this country, they have already made up their minds about who they are going to vote for and the only thing that really matters to most of them is the letter behind the person's name. They don't care about emails or naked pictures, since they've already decided who they are going to vote for or against.

Well that's just wrong. The polls have just swung pretty wildly because of the conventions. The debates or a huge screw up could have the same effect. The idea that the numbers are guaranteed not to change is just plain wrong.

The real poison pill question is.......will America DIE from ingesting whichever of the two that finally becomes president???

Polls are pretty irrelevant, btw.

The polls will swing to nearly even by November.......and we'll be in for a real close election, as usual.

That is very close to correct. Most have decided whom to vote. Either they are believers or party hacks or they have made up their minds, with which type of evil they feel themselves less uncomfortable and/or scared.

I think your analysis omits one key variable--voters staying home. Those who actually vote may indeed not change their minds, but I think many voters may find the whole election so disgusting or "rigged" that they decide it's not worth their time and effort to participate. Those votes could swing a relatively close election. This makes Trump's latest comments that he may lose a "rigged election" all the more risky. Some of his voters may believe him and simply give up.
