Poilievre claims Christians 'may be the number 1' victims of hate-based violence

Pierre continues to strive to remain a punchline. I'm assuming this ridiculous policy statement came from his dingbat campaign manager Jenni Byrne who's best known for getting Pierre to mumble 'woke' every second word.

Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre said Monday that Christians and their places of worship are being targeted and, if elected, he will crack down on religion-based hate through tougher sanctions for crimes like arson.

Speaking to reporters at an announcement on food inflation, Poilievre said he has watched with alarm at the "terrible" spate of church burnings, incidents he described as "terrorist attacks" directed at Christians.

According to the most recent Statistics Canada data, the majority of hate crimes targeting a religion reported by police in 2023 were directed at Jews (70 per cent) and Muslims (16 per cent).

What I love is that Carney just continues to ignore him and gets on with business.

I guess Poilievre getting spanked in the last election didn't teach him there is no mood in Canada (except maybe in Alberta) for a Donald Trump wannabee.

The very last issue that would move my personal needle is ANY religion claiming victimhood. I have no room anywhere in my brain bucket for that nonsense to be given consideration as proposed by any smarmy politician.

Of all the things that have served to plague humanity with negatives over the centuries, human behaviour towards each other patterned using some religious nuttery as it's foundational excuse is right up there with greed and avarice.

Poilievre is pitching to the segment of population growing ever more skeptical of long held beliefs.

Canadians only have to look beneath us to view the result of placing all your morality, ethical standards and logical reasoning on a shelf while prioritizing the pretending to be "Christians".
